The 2022 Houston Dash season is the team's ninth season as an American professional women's soccer team in the National Women's Soccer League. The 2022 NWSL season will run from 7 May 2022 to 2 October 2022, following the 2022 NWSL Challenge Cup. Season The Dash started the season taking part in the 2022 NWSL Challenge Cup. Houston finished in 4th place in Central Division with 2 wins and 4 losses. On 27 April 2022 the team suspended coach James Clarkson for allegations of discrimination, harassment, and abuse, based on an investigation started by the NWSL and NWSLPA the prior season. The Houston Dash is a professional women's soccer team based in Houston, Texas. It joined the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) in the 2014 season, and is affiliated with the MLS team Houston Dynamo FC. History Establishment On November 19, 2013, the Houston Dynamo began talks in the initial stages with the intention of bringing a top flight women's professional soccer franchise to Houston. Just a week later, the effort was bolstered when the Dynamo began accepting refundable deposits for a potential NWSL expansion team. Ally Samantha Prisock (born January 18, 1997) is an American professional soccer player who currently plays for the GPSO 92 Issy on loan from Houston Dash of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Early years Prisock was born to Aaron Prisock and Nickie Jennings and grew up in Fontana, California alongside sisters Ashley and Alyssa. She attended Rancho Cucamonga High School and after committing to USC her junior year she took summer classes in order to graduated early from high school, December of her senior year, in order to be able to attend spring training at USC. Julia Ashley (born November 11, 1996) is an American soccer player who plays as a defender for Houston Dash of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). She previously played for Adelaide United and Linköpings FC, as well as collegiately for the North Carolina Tar Heels. The Nebraska Cornhuskers women's soccer team represents the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in the Big Ten Conference of NCAA Division I. The North Carolina Courage is a professional women's soccer team based in Cary, North Carolina. It was founded on January 9, 2017, after Stephen Malik acquired National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) franchise rights from the Western New York Flash. Natalie Ann Jacobs (born August 16, 1997) is an American professional soccer player who last played as a defender for the Houston Dash. Early life Jacobs grew up in Coto de Caza, California. She is the daughter of Jeff and Teresa Jacobs. Her father captained the U.S. Air Force Academy soccer team. Jacobs was a 2013 and 2014 NSCAA Youth All-American.
