2022 French Open – Men's Doubles
Marcelo Arévalo and Jean-Julien Rojer defeated Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek in the final, 6–7(4–7), 7–6(7–5), 6–3 to win the men's doubles tennis title at the 2022 French Open. They saved three championship points en route to winning their first major title as a team and their third overall title together. With his maiden major title, Arévalo became the first men's doubles major champion from Central America, and at 40 years of age, Rojer became the oldest men's doubles major champion in the Open Era with his third major men's doubles title. Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut were the defending champions, but lost in the first round to Sander Gillé and Joran Vliegen. Mate Pavić was vying to complete the career Golden Slam, but lost in the third round to Rohan Bopanna and Matwé Middelkoop. Marcelo Arévalo
Marcelo Arévalo González (; born October 17, 1990) is a Salvadoran professional tennis player. He has been ranked as high as world No. 5 in doubles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), which he first achieved on 14 November 2022. Together with his career-high singles ranking of world No. 139, attained in April 2018, Arévalo is the highest-ranked player, male or female, across both disciplines in Salvadoran tennis history. He has won six career ATP Tour doubles titles, including a Grand Slam title at the 2022 French Open with partner Jean-Julien Rojer. With the win, he became the first player from Central America to claim a men's doubles major title. Joe Salisbury ( ; born 20 April 1992) is a British professional tennis player who is a former world No. 1 in doubles. He is a five-time Grand Slam champion, having won the 2020 Australian Open, the 2021 US Open and the 2022 US Open in men's doubles, partnering Rajeev Ram. Salisbury has also won two mixed doubles titles, at the 2021 French Open and US Open alongside Desirae Krawczyk. Andreas Mies (; born 21 August 1990) is a German professional tennis player who specialises in doubles. He is a two-time Grand Slam champion, having won the French Open doubles title in both 2019 and 2020 alongside compatriot Kevin Krawietz. Kevin Krawietz (born 24 January 1992) is a German professional tennis player who specialises in doubles. He is a two-time Grand Slam champion, having won the French Open doubles title in both 2019 and 2020 alongside compatriot Andreas Mies. The pair were also semifinalists at the 2019 US Open. Filip Polášek
Filip Polášek (; born 21 July 1985) is a Slovak professional tennis player who specialises in doubles. He was forced to retire in 2013 due to health issues, but returned in 2018 and began the most successful phase of his career. Polášek won his first Grand Slam title at the 2021 Australian Open alongside Ivan Dodig, and also won the 2019 Cincinnati Masters and 2021 Indian Wells Masters, with Dodig and John Peers respectively. John Peers
John William Peers (born 25 July 1988) is an Australian professional tennis player who specialises in doubles. He won his first Grand Slam title at the 2017 Australian Open, where he and Henri Kontinen won the men's doubles event. Peers also finished runner up at the Wimbledon Championships and US Open in 2015 alongside Jamie Murray, and at the 2019 Australian Open with Kontinen. Michael Venus (born 16 October 1987), is a New Zealander professional tennis player. He has a career-high doubles ranking of world No. 6, achieved on 29 August 2022. Venus won the 2017 French Open men's doubles partnering Ryan Harrison, and followed with a runner-up finish in the 2017 US Open mixed doubles partnering Chan Hao-ching. Venus and Harrison qualified for the year-end championships ATP Finals, where they reached the semifinals. Tim Pütz (; born 19 November 1987) is a German professional tennis player who specialises in doubles. He reached his career-high doubles ranking of world No. 7 on 29 August 2022, and has won seven doubles titles on the ATP Tour, most notably the 2021 Paris Masters alongside Michael Venus.
