2022 Formula Regional European Championship
The 2022 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine is a multi-event, Formula Regional open-wheel single seater motor racing championship held across Europe. The championship features a mix of professional and amateur drivers, competing in Formula Regional cars that conform to the FIA Formula Regional regulations for the championship. This is the fourth season of the championship and the second after a merger with Formula Renault Eurocup which resulted to the change of the engine supplier to Alpine. The season commenced on 22 April at Autodromo Nazionale Monza and will conclude on 23 October at Mugello Circuit, after ten rounds. Formula Regional European Championship
The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) is a FIA-certified regional European Formula 3 racing series. On 12 October 2018 it was announced that the Italian autosport regulator Automobile Club d’Italia (ACI) and karting promoter WSK would organize the inaugural year of the championship in 2019. Their bid was chosen over Renault Sport's bid with the same chassis, who attracted fewer votes from Single-Seater Commission members. Following the 2020 season, the Formula Renault Eurocup merged with the Formula Regional European Championship to become the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine. The championship's first season featured eight rounds on the circuits across Europe with half of them in Italy. The driver champions receive FIA Super License points. Leonardo Fornaroli (born 3 December 2004) is an Italian people, Italian racing driver who is set to compete in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship for Trident. He is the 2022 Formula Regional European Championship, 2022 Formula Regional European rookie champion. Career Karting Fornaroli began kart racing, karting competitively in his native Italy around the age of ten, first winning the Mini Academy class of the Championkart championship in 2016 before moving up to X30 Junior the following year. Nicolás Baptiste Velasco (born 31 October 2005) is a Colombian racing driver set to compete in the 2024 USF Pro 2000 Championship for BN Racing. He previously competed in the 2022 Formula Regional European Championship for Fernando Alonso, FA Racing. Victor Bernier
Victor Bernier (born 26 June 2004) is a French racing driver who currently drives in the Formula Regional European Championship with FA Racing. Career Karting Bernier began karting competitively in 2013, and won a number of national championships before becoming the Junior Karting World Champion in 2018, ahead of Gabriele Minì and Gabriel Bortoleto. He received a Volant d'Or award from the French Federation of Automobile Sport as a reward for his karting exploits. Francesco Braschi (born 27 November 2004), is an Italian people, Italian racing driver competing in the 2022 Formula Regional European Championship for KIC Motorsport. Axel Gnos (born 30 April 2003) is a Swiss-French racing driver of Vietnamese descent, who drives for G4 Racing in the Formula Regional European Championship. Career Lower formulae Gnos made his car racing debut in the 2018 Italian F4 Championship with AS Motorsport, where he raced in two rounds. Nicola Marinangeli (born 14 May 2003) is an Italian racing driver who is currently driving in the 2022 Formula Regional Asian Championship, Formula Regional Asian Championship for Evans GP.
