2022 Evian Championship
The 2022 Evian Championship was played 21–24 July at the Evian Resort Golf Club in Évian-les-Bains, France. It was the 29th Evian Championship (the first 20 played as the Evian Masters), and the tenth as a major championship on the LPGA Tour. The event was televised by Golf Channel in the United States and Sky Sports in the United Kingdom. Brooke Henderson won with a score of 267, 17-under-par, a stroke ahead of Sophia Schubert. Field The field for the tournament was set at 132, and most earned exemptions based on past performance on the Ladies European Tour, the LPGA Tour, or with a high ranking in the Women's World Golf Rankings. Évian-les-Bains (), or simply Évian ( frp, Èvian, , or ), is a Communes of France, commune in the northern part of the Haute-Savoie Departments of France, department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regions of France, region, Southeastern France. Rachel Heck (born ) is an American amateur golfer. Early life and amateur career Heck, a native of Memphis, Tennessee started playing golf with her two sisters almost as soon as she could walk, competing in friendly competitions for ice cream. Her older sister, Abby, played collegiate golf at University of Notre Dame and younger sister, Anna, who is committed to play golf at the University of Notre Dame, competed in the 2021 U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball. Chun In-gee ( ko, 전인지, born 10 August 1994), also known as In Gee Chun, is a South Korean professional golfer. She was born in Gunsan, North Jeolla Province. Choi Hye-jin ( ko, 최혜진; born 23 August 1999) is a South Korean professional golfer. Amateur career Choi represented South Korea at the 2014 Asian Games where she helped the team to a silver medal and finished fifth in the individual event. Céline Boutier (born 10 November 1993) is a French professional golfer. Amateur career Boutier won several international amateur events including the 2012 European Ladies Amateur Championship and the 2015 British Ladies Amateur. Pia Babnik (born 2 January 2004) is a Slovenian professional golfer. She won the 2019 R&A Girls Amateur Championship. Marina Alex (born August 2, 1990) is an American professional golfer. Early life and education Raised in Wayne, New Jersey, Alex played interscholastic golf at Wayne Hills High School, where she won individual state titles in 2007 and 2008. Angela Gwen Stanford (born November 28, 1977) is an American professional golfer who currently competes on the LPGA Tour. Amateur career Born and raised in Saginaw, Texas, Stanford won the Fort Worth Girls Championship four times (1993–1996), the 1996 Texas State 4A High School Championship and the 1996 PING Texas State Junior Championship. Tiia Koivisto (born 6 February 1994) is a Finnish professional golfer who plays on the Ladies European Tour (LET). She won the 2022 Jabra Ladies Open. In 2020, she topped the LETAS Order of Merit after winning the Czech Ladies Challenge. Rose Zhang (born May 24, 2003) is an American amateur golfer. She won the 2020 U.S. Women's Amateur and the 2022 NCAA Division I Championship. She competed in the 2019 U.S. Women's Open and was on the gold medal team at the 2019 Pan American Games. Personal life Zhang was born in Arcadia, California and resides in Irvine, California.
