The 2022 European Wrestling Championships was held from 28 March to 3 April 2022 in Budapest, Hungary. Taha Akgül (born 22 November 1990 in Sivas, Turkey) is an Olympic, World, and European champion Turkish freestyle wrestler competing in the 125 kg division. He is a 3 time world (2014, 2015, 2022) and 10 time European (2012-2015, 2017-2019, 2021-2023) champion. Dániel Ligeti (born July 31, 1989 in Szombathely) is an amateur Hungarian freestyle wrestler, who competes in the men's super heavyweight category. He won the bronze medal for his division at the 2011 European Wrestling Championships in Dortmund, Germany, and silver at the 2012 European Wrestling Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. Ligeti stands 1.92 metres (6 ft 3.5 in) tall and weighs 115 kilograms (254 lb). He is also currently a member of TuS Adelhausen in Rheinfelden, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, and is coached by Istvan Gulyas from the national wrestling team. A pin, or fall, is a victory condition in various forms of wrestling that is met by holding an opponent's shoulders or scapulae (shoulder blades) on the wrestling mat for a prescribed period of time. This article deals with the pin as it is defined in amateur wrestling. A pin ends a match regardless of when it occurs.
