2022 Czech Darts Open
The 2022 Gambrinus Czech Darts Open was the sixth of thirteen PDC European Tour events on the 2022 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament took place at the Královka Arena, Prague, Czech Republic, from 13–15 May 2022. It featured a field of 48 players and £140,000 in prize money, with £25,000 going to the winner. Jamie Hughes was the defending champion after defeating Stephen Bunting 8–3 in the 2019 final, but he failed to qualify for this tournament, so was unable to defend his title. Luke Humphries won his second European Tour title with an 8–5 win over Rob Cross in the final. Královka Arena
Královka Arena or Královka sports Hall (Czech: Sportovní hala Královka) is multipurpose hall located in Prague 7 district Letná, near to the Generali Arena. Sports and cultural events are held there. It has capacity for maximum 2500 people, 1300 without additional tribune. It can host sports as basketball, badminton or floorball. In this complex, training ground with capacity of 200 people is included. Since 2014, it is home to women basketball team USK Praha and VŠ Praha. Basketball Nymburk also plays its major international matches in this arena. History This arena in Pod Královskou oborou street was built in 1965, by the Czech architect Cyril Mandel. 2019 Czech Darts Open
The 2019 Czech Darts Open was the ninth of thirteen PDC European Tour events on the 2019 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament took place at the PVA Expo Praha, Prague, Czech Republic, from 28–30 June 2019. It featured a field of 48 players and £140,000 in prize money, with £25,000 going to the winner. Jamie Hughes won his first PDC title with an 8–3 win over Stephen Bunting in the final. Gerwyn Price hit the fourth nine-dart finish of the 2019 European Tour to beat Glen Durrant 6–4 in the second round. It was also the first of Price's career. The tournament saw a new European tour record for the most seeded players losing their first match as 11 of 16 players including Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright lost in the second round. Martin Schindler
Martin Schindler (born 16 August 1996) is a German professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Career Schindler won a PDC Tour Card at Qualifying-School (Q-School) in January 2017. He represented Germany along with Max Hopp at the 2017 PDC World Cup of Darts, reaching the quarter-finals, before losing to the Dutch pair of Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld. In the same year he debuted on a ranking major, playing 2017 European Championship, where he lost to Rob Cross 0–6. Peter Wright (darts Player)
Peter Wright (born 10 March 1970) is a Scottish professional darts player who plays in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), where he is currently ranked No. 2 in the world. Nicknamed "Snakebite", he is regarded as one of the greatest players of all time and is a two-time world champion, having won the PDC World Darts Championship in 2020 and 2022. He is also a World Matchplay champion. PDC Order Of Merit
The PDC Order of Merit is a world ranking system used by one of the darts organisations, the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Following the 2007 PDC World Darts Championship it superseded a world ranking system based on points being awarded for performances in ranking tournaments. How it works The Order of Merit is similar to that employed in golf's European Tour. Prize money won during the previous two seasons is calculated and the rankings are determined from this money list. Rob Cross (darts Player)
Robert Cross (born 21 September 1990) is an English professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He became the 2018 PDC World Darts Champion following his victory over Phil Taylor. Cross won the World Championship on his debut, having turned professional just 11 months prior to the event. BDO career 2015 In October 2015, Cross attempted to qualify for the 2016 BDO World Darts Championship, where he was knocked out in the last 64 by Tony Martin. He also competed in the 2015 World Masters, losing to Darius Labanauskas in the last 48. Luke Humphries
Luke Humphries (born 11 February 1995) is an English professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He won the 2019 PDC World Youth Championship. Career Humphries won five PDC Development Tour titles in 2017, finishing top of the Development Tour Order of Merit. As a result of this, he qualified for the 2018 PDC World Darts Championship where he lost to Jeff Smith, and received a PDC Tour Card for the 2018 and 2019 season. 2019 He also won the Development Tour Order of Merit in 2019, a year which culminated in a fantastic run at the 2019 World Championship for Humphries. Stephen Bunting
Stephen Bunting (born 9 April 1985) is an English professional darts player who competes in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Nicknamed The Bullet, Bunting won the 2014 BDO World Darts Championship and is a twice former World Masters champion. Darts career Beginnings Bunting won both the British Teenage Open and the World Youth Masters in 2001 and also captured the WDF Europe Youth Cup in 2002. Jamie Hughes (born 27 February 1986) is an English professional darts player. He competes for the Professional Darts Corporation. Career 2014–2015 Hughes broke out in 2014 by entering the world's top ten and reaching the final of the prestigious Winmau World Masters. He defeated Alan Norris 3–2 in the quarter-finals from 2–0 down, and Martin Adams 6–5 in the semi-finals from 5–2 down, also surviving ten match darts in the ninth set. Hughes was eventually beaten 7–3 by Martin Phillips having led 2–0 and thrown for the third set.
