2022 Barcelona Formula 3 Round
The 2022 Barcelona Formula 3 round was a motor racing event held on 21 and 22 May 2022 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Montmeló, Catalonia, Spain. It was the third round of the 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship, and was held in support of the 2022 Spanish Grand Prix. Classification Qualifying Trident driver Roman Staněk achieved his maiden pole position in Formula 3 ahead of championship leader Victor Martins and Alexander Smolyar. Circuit De Barcelona-Catalunya
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya () is a motorsport race track in Montmeló, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. With long straights and a variety of corners, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is seen as an all-rounder circuit. The track has stands with a capacity of 140,700. The circuit has FIA Grade 1 license. Until 2013 the track was known only as the ''Circuit de Catalunya'', before a sponsorship deal with Barcelona City Council added Barcelona to the track's title. History The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya was built in 1991 and began hosting the Spanish Grand Prix that same year. Alexander Alexandrovich Smolyar ( rus, Александр Александрович Смоляр; born 19 July 2001) is a Russian racing driver who most recently competed in the FIA Formula 3 Championship for MP Motorsport. Racing career Lower formulae 2017 was Smolyar's debut season in single-seater racing. He competed for SMP Racing in the Spanish and Russian Formula 4 Championships, finishing 3rd in both. He scored a total of 24 podiums, with all of his race wins coming in the Spanish Championship. Rafael Villagómez Jr. (born 10 November 2001) is a Mexican race car driver who is currently competing in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship for Van Amersfoort Racing. He won the Richard Mille Young Talent Academy competition in 2019. Reece Ushijima (born 13 January 2003) is a Japanese-American racing driver who is currently racing in the 2023 USF Pro 2000 Championship with Jay Howard Driver Development. Josep Maria "Pepe" Martí Sobrepera (born 13 June 2005) is a Spanish racing driver who most recently raced in the FIA Formula 3 for Campos Racing. He is a race winner in the UAE and Spanish Formula 4 championships, and also the 2022 Formula Regional Asian Championship runner-up. Career Karting Martí started karting competitively in late 2016 at the age of eleven. Oliver Rasmussen (born 6 November 2000) is a Danish racing driver currently competing in the World Endurance Championship for Jota. Early career Italian F4 2018 Rasmussen started his single-seater career off with Jenzer Motorsport at the opening round of the 2018 Italian F4 Championship. Zane Maloney (born 2 October 2003) is a Barbadian racing driver. He was the 2019 British F4 champion and finished as runner-up in the 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship, racing for Trident.
