2022 Alberta Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2022 Sentinel Storage Alberta Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship for Alberta, was held January 3 to 9 at the Bonnetts Energy Centre in Grande Prairie, Grande Prairie, Alberta. The winning Laura Walker (curler), Laura Walker team represented Alberta at the 2022 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and finished with a 3–5 record. The event was held in conjunction with the 2022 Boston Pizza Cup, the provincial men's curling championship. Grande Prairie
Grande Prairie is a city in northwest Alberta, Canada within the southern portion of an area known as Peace River Country. It is located at the intersection of Highway 43 (part of the CANAMEX Corridor) and Highway 40 (the Bighorn Highway), approximately northwest of Edmonton. Crestwood Curling Club
The Crestwood Curling Club is a curling club located in the Crestwood, Edmonton, Crestwood neighbourhood of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The club was founded in 1954 on the location of Crestwood Park in west Edmonton. On February 16, 1955 the club opened its doors, and its first feature game involved the Brier, Brier champion Matt Baldwin take on Ole Olson. New additions to the club would be added in 1964. A new ice plant was added in 1981, and the club was renovated in 2004. In 2010, the club switched from a sand base to a concrete base. The club has six sheets, and the rock colours are red and blue. Kayla Skrlik (born September 10, 1997) is a Canadian curler from Calgary, Alberta. She currently skips her own team out of the Garrison Curling Club. Career Skrlik broke onto the junior scene when she skipped Team Alberta at the 2016 U18 International Curling Championships. There, she led her team to a 3–2 round robin record, just missing the playoffs. She represented Alberta at her first junior nationals at the 2018 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. At the championship, Skrlik led her team of Ashton Skrlik, Hope Sunley and Megan Johnson to a 4–2 round robin record, enough to qualify for the championship round. They then went 3–1 against the other pool, however, this was not enough to qualify for the playoffs and they finished in fourth place with a 7–3 record.
