The 2022 season was AIK 131st in existence, their 94th season in Allsvenskan and their 17th consecutive season in the league. Season events On 3 September 2021, AIK announced the signing of Henry Atola from Tusker, with the player officially joining on 1 January 2022 on a contract until 1 September 2026. On 21 December 2021, AIK announced the signings of Jesper Ceesay from Brommapojkarna and Josafat Mendes from Hammarby, with both players officially joining on 1 January 2022 on contracts until 31 December 2025. On 9 March, AIK announced the signing of Axel Björnström on a contract until 31 December 2024, after the player had ended his contract with Arsenal Tula. AIK Fotboll (), more commonly known simply as AIK (), an abbreviation for Allmänna Idrottsklubben (meaning ''the public'' or ''general sports club''), is a Swedish football club competing in Allsvenskan, the top flight of Swedish football. John Guidetti
John Alberto Guidetti (, ; born 15 April 1992) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a striker for AIK. Whilst growing up Guidetti played football in his native Sweden as well as Kenya. He returned to Sweden in 2008 and played with IF Brommapojkarna when at the age of 16 he earned a move to English club Manchester City. Collins Lusaka Sichenje (born 19 September 2003) is a Kenyan professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Serbian SuperLiga club Vojvodina, on loan from Swedish side AIK.
