2022 AFF Women's Championship
The 2022 AFF Women's Championship was the 12th edition of the AFF Women's Championship, an international women's football tournament organised by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). The final tournament was originally scheduled to run from 3 to 17 July 2020. However the tournament was postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament was later rescheduled and was held from 4 to 17 July 2022 in the Philippines. Vietnam were the defending champions, but failed to defend the title after losing 0–4 to the Philippines in the semi-finals. The hosts went on to win their first title in history by defeating Thailand 3–0 in the final. Participating nations Eleven teams entered the AFF Women's Championship final tournament. Penalty Shoot-out (association Football)
A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds. The Biñan Football Stadium is a track and field and football venue in Biñan, Laguna, Philippines. On October 28, 2015, the Biñan city government and the Philippine Football Federation signed a memorandum of understanding agreeing that the stadium shall be the home stadium of the Philippine women's national football team as well as the national youth teams at least until 2019. The 2016 AFF Women's Championship was the ninth edition of the AFF Women's Championship, an international women's football tournament organised by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). The tournament was held in Mandalay, Myanmar between 26 July–4 August 2016. Thailand successfully defended their title after beating Vietnam in the final via penalty shoot-out.
