2021–22 Women's Big Bash League Season
The 2021–22 Women's Big Bash League season or WBBL, 07 was the seventh season of the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL), the semi-professional women's Twenty20 domestic cricket competition in Australia. The tournament was played from 14 October to 27 November 2021. The Sydney Thunder entered the season as the defending champions, having won their second title in WBBL06, but failed to qualify for the knockout stage. In the championship decider, played at Perth Stadium, the Perth Scorchers defeated the Adelaide Strikers by 12 runs. Marizanne Kapp was named Player of the Final for her influential all-round performance, scoring 31 * off 23 deliveries and producing bowling figures of 1/25 from four overs to help the Scorchers claim their maiden WBBL title. Karen Rolton Oval
Karen Rolton Oval is a cricket ground in Adelaide, South Australia, named after the former Australian cricketer Karen Rolton. It is located near the corner of West Terrace and Port Road, opposite the new Royal Adelaide Hospital, in the eastern end of Park 25 of the Adelaide Park Lands. The venue hosted a Women's One Day International (WODI) match between Australia and New Zealand on 24 February 2019. 2021–22 Adelaide Strikers WBBL Season
The 2021–22 Adelaide Strikers Women's season was the seventh in the team's history. Coached by Luke Williams and captained by Tahlia McGrath, the Strikers ended the regular season of WBBL07 in fourth place, qualifying for the knockout stage of the tournament. They proceeded to defeat the Brisbane Heat and the Melbourne Renegades in sudden death encounters to book a place in the Final against the Perth Scorchers at Perth Stadium on 27 November 2021. In the championship decider, the Strikers were defeated by 12 runs, resulting in their second runners-up finish in three seasons. Squad Each 2021–22 squad was made up of 15 active players. Teams could sign up to five 'marquee players', with a maximum of three of those from overseas. The Brisbane Heat (WBBL) are an Australian women's Twenty20 cricket team based in Albion, Queensland. The Heat compete in the Women's Big Bash League and have won two championships, winning back-to-back titles across WBBL04 and WBBL05. Allan Border Field
Allan Border Field is a cricket ground in the Brisbane suburb of Albion in Queensland. The Australian Cricket Academy has been based at the oval since 2004 using it as a base for the development of elite cricketers throughout Australia. It was formerly known as ''Neumann Oval'' and was home to the Fortitude Valley Diehards rugby league team from 1909 until 1995. The oval was named for Fred "Firpo" Neumann, Valley's club captain (and later president) and Queensland and Australian representative footballer. Queensland Cricket purchased the ground not long after Valley's relocation and named it in honour of former Australian cricket captain Allan Border.
