2021–22 Sheffield United F.C. Season
The 2021–22 season was Sheffield United's first season back in the Championship since the 2018–19 season following relegation last season and was the 133rd year in their history. This season, the club participated in the Championship, FA Cup and EFL Cup. The season covered the period from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022. During pre-season, Slaviša Jokanović was appointed as manager on a three-year deal, however was sacked on 25 November 2021 after a poor start to the season. Paul Heckingbottom was appointed, and took the team from lower mid table into the playoffs by May. The season was ended in heartbreak, however, after Morgan Gibbs-White missed the deciding penalty in a shootout defeat to Nottingham Forest. Sheffield is a city in South Yorkshire, England, whose name derives from the River Sheaf which runs through it. The city serves as the administrative centre of the City of Sheffield. Morgan Anthony Gibbs-White (born 27 January 2000) is an English professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder of winger for Premier League club Nottingham Forest. He has represented England at under-16 through under-21 level. Gibbs-White began his career with Wolverhampton Wanderers, making his début in 2017, making almost 100 appearances for the club. Charlie Goode
Charles James Goode (born 3 August 1995) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for club Brentford. A graduate of the Fulham Academy, Goode began his senior career in non-League football, before breaking into League football with Scunthorpe United in 2015. A loan to Northampton Town in January 2019 led to a permanent move to the club at the end of the 2018–19 season. Filip Uremović (born 11 February 1997) is a Croatian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Bundesliga club Hertha BSC and the Croatia national team. Benjamin Keith Davies (born 11 August 1995) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre-back or left-back for Scottish Premiership club Rangers. Jayden Ian Bogle (born 27 July 2000) is an English professional footballer who plays for Championship club Sheffield United. John Egan (born 20 October 1992) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for EFL Championship club Sheffield United and the Republic of Ireland national team.
