The 2021–22 Nemzeti Bajnokság I (known as the '' K&H női kézilabda liga'' for sponsorship reasons) is the 71st season of the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, Hungarian premier Handball league. Team information As in the previous season, 14 teams played in the 2020–21 season. After the 2020–21 season, Békéscsabai Előre NKSE and Boglári Akadémia-SZISE were relegated to the 2021–22 Nemzeti Bajnokság I/B. Nemzeti Bajnokság I (women's Handball)
The Nemzeti Bajnokság (, "National Championship"), also known as NB I, is the top level of the Hungarian football league system. The league is officially named OTP Bank Liga after its title sponsor OTP Bank. UEFA currently ranks the league 28th in Europe. Twelve teams compete in the league, playing each other three times, once at home, once away, and the third match is played at the stadium that the last match was not played at. At the end of the season, the top team enters the qualification for the UEFA Champions League, while the runner-up and the third place, together with the winner of the Magyar Kupa enter the UEFA Europa Conference League qualification rounds. The bottom two clubs are relegated to Nemzeti Bajnokság II, the second-level league, to be replaced by the winner and the runner up of the NB2. National Academy Of Handball
The National Academy of Handball ( hu, Nemzeti Kézilabda Akadémia, commonly abbreviated NEKA) is a Hungarian state-funded handball training and developing center run by the Hungarian Handball Federation. Located in Balatonboglár, it offers an integrated four year education for students in grades 9–12. In addition, it is open for Hungarian international junior handballers (aged 18–21) under a trilateral agreement between the academy, the players' club and the players itself. Budaörs (; german: Wudersch; hr, Jerša, or ; la, Vicus Teuto) is a town in Pest County, Budapest metropolitan area, Hungary. Location A suburb of Budapest, the town lies among the Buda and Csiki hills and the Tétény plateau in the Budaörs-basin. The dramatic ''Törökugrató'' hill (''Türkensprung'' in German) rises above the town. History The first settlements of the area date from 3500 BC. Siófok Kézilabda Club is a Hungarian women's team handball team from Siófok, that currently play in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I. They have competed in lower divisions until 2006, when they have won the third-tier championship and gained promotion to the Nemzeti Bajnokság I/B. That time a businessman, János Fodor took over the club, and with the support of the local government, he guaranteed the financial background to fulfil the club's long-term plans. In May 2009, SKC received a surprise request from the Hungarian Handball Federation to replace the financially struggling Tajtavill-Nyíradony and join the top level championship.
