Macarthur Football Club is an Australian professional soccer club based in South Western Sydney, New South Wales. It competes in Australia's premier soccer competition, the A-League, under licence from Australian Professional Leagues (APL). On 13 December 2018, it was announced that the club would be accepted into the A-League as part of the new expansion process. History The club's origins are in the merging of two separate bids during the league's expansion process in 2018, United for Macarthur and South West Sydney FC. The two entities joined forces on 20 August 2018 to create Macarthur South West United Football Club, which later that year was chosen by the FFA to join the league in the 2020–21 A-League season. Daniel Peter De Silva (born 6 March 1997) is an Australian professional football player who plays as an attacking midfielder for Macarthur FC in the A-League. Born in Perth, De Silva commenced his professional career for Perth Glory in the A-League before joining Roda JC in 2015. De Silva has played for Australia numerous times at youth level, and has been called up for the Australian senior team, but is yet to make his debut. Liam Joseph Rose (born 7 April 1997) is an Australian footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for USL Championship club El Paso Locomotive. Career Rose was educated at Bossley Park High School. Jake Hollman (born 26 August 2001) is an Australian professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Macarthur FC. Tomislav Uskok (born 22 July 1991) is an Australian footballer who plays for Macarthur FC in the A-League. Club career Early years Uskok came through the junior ranks at local club Melbourne Knights. He departed the club in 2009 in search of first team football, subsequently joining Victorian Premier League side Richmond SC. With first team opportunities scarce for the 18-year-old, he then joined Victorian State League Division 1 side St Albans Saints for the second half of the 2010 season. Michael Klaude Ruhs (born 27 August 2002) is an Australian professional soccer player who currently plays for A-League Men club Western United. Early life Ruhs was born in Cecil Park but raised in Horsley Park. Thomas Michael Oar (born 10 December 1991) is a retired Australian professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Born on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Oar played youth football for Burleigh Heads, Palm Beach and at the Queensland Academy of Sport before making his professional debut for Brisbane Roar in 2008.
