2021–22 LEB Oro Season
The 2021–22 LEB Oro season is the 26th season of the Spanish basketball second league. It started on 8 October 2021 with the first round of the regular season and will end on 19 June 2022 with the Final Four. Format changes For this season, the league is back to 18 teams and bring back the single group with a single group phase in which the top team of the regular season will promote directly to Liga ACB. At the same time, the teams placed between 2nd and 9th will qualify for the playoffs to decide the second promotion to Liga ACB and the last three teams will be relegated to LEB Plata. For the playoffs, the quarter-finals will be played in a best-of-five series and the semi-finals and the final will be in a single-game format in a neutral venue. Liga Española De Baloncesto
The Liga Española de Baloncesto, also known as LEB Oro, is the second basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system after the Liga ACB. It is run by the FEB. The Liga Española de Baloncesto is divided into two categories (the other one is the LEB Plata). The LEB league was founded in 1996 and is played under FIBA rules. It was renamed LEB Oro in 2007. The league is contested by 18 clubs. Each season, the top-finishing team in the LEB Oro are automatically promoted to the Liga ACB. The teams that finish the season in 2nd to 9th place enter a playoff tournament, with the winner also gaining promotion to the Liga ACB. The three lowest-finishing teams in the LEB Oro are relegated to LEB Plata. A total of 78 teams have competed in LEB Oro since its inception in 1996. 19 teams have been crowned champions and 30 teams have gained promotion to Liga ACB, of which only five teams could not play in Liga ACB. FC Barcelona Bàsquet B (English: FC Barcelona Basketball B), commonly referred to as FC Barcelona B () and colloquially known as Barça B (), is the reserve team of the FC Barcelona. Club Baloncesto Ciudad de Valladolid, also known as Real Valladolid Baloncesto by sponsorship reasons, is a Spanish professional basketball team based in Valladolid, Castile and León. The team currently plays in league LEB Oro. CB Bahía San Agustín, more commonly known as Palmer Alma Mediterrànea Palma by sponsorship reasons, is a basketball team based in Palma, Spain. Oviedo Club Baloncesto, also known as Alimerka Oviedo Baloncesto for sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball team based in Oviedo, Asturias, that plays in the Spanish LEB Oro league. Club Melilla Baloncesto is a professional basketball team based in Melilla that plays in the LEB league. This is the only team in Spain that played all LEB seasons. Fundación Lucentum Baloncesto Alicante, also known as HLA Alicante for sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball team based in Alicante, Valencian Community.
