The 2021–22 Everton Football Club season was the club's 143rd season in existence and the club's 68th consecutive season in the top flight of English football. In addition to the domestic league, Everton participated in this season's editions of the FA Cup and the EFL Cup. Season summary On 5 December 2021, director of football Marcel Brands left the club with immediate effect. He had been at Everton since May 2018. Andros Darryl Townsend (born 16 July 1991) is an English professional footballer who plays as a winger for club Everton. A graduate of the Tottenham Hotspur academy, Townsend was initially loaned out to several League One and then Championship clubs alongside limited Tottenham appearances, before making his Premier League debut in September 2012. Gray came through the youth system of Birmingham City, for whom he made his Football League debut as a 17-year-old in October 2013. Fabian Delph (born 21 November 1989) is an English former professional footballer who played as a central midfielder or left-back. He was on the books of Bradford City as a youngster until he moved to Leeds United aged 11. Mason Anthony Holgate (born 22 October 1996) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for club Everton. Born in England, Holgate is eligible to play for Jamaica through family heritage. Club career Barnsley Holgate was born in Doncaster, South Yorkshire and joined Barnsley at the age of nine.
