Austria
Austria, , bar, Östareich officially the Republic of Austria, is a country in the southern part of Central Europe, lying in the Eastern Alps. It is a federation of nine states, one of which is the capital, Vienna, the most populous city and state. A landlocked country, Austria is bordered by Germany to the northwest, the Czech Republic to the north, Slovakia to the northeast, Hungary to the east, Slovenia and Italy to the south, and Switzerland and Liechtenstein to the west. Hermann Schützenhöfer
Hermann Schützenhöfer (; born 29 February 1952) was governor of the Austrian province Styria from 2015 until 2022 and chairman of the Styrian People's Party (STVP/ÖVP) from 2006 until 2022. Personal life Schützenhöfer grew up in Edlitz in Lower Austria. In 1966, Schützenhöfer's family moved back to Kirchbach in Styria, where Schützenhöfer completed compulsory school with the polytechnical year. He became an apprentice in a grocery store and wrote articles as a local journalist for the ''Kleine Zeitung'', the ''Sonntagspost'' and the Styrian youth magazine ''Horizont'' (= "Horizon" - a media organ of the Junge Volkspartei). He is married to Marianne, and has two grown-up children. In Austrian politics, the Federal Chancellery (german: Bundeskanzleramt, lit=federal chancellery, abbreviated ; historically also and ) is the ministry led by the chancellor. Since the establishment of the First Austrian Republic in 1918, the Chancellery building has served as the venue for the sessions of the Austrian cabinet. Markus Wallner (born 20 July 1967) is an Austrian politician (ÖVP). Since 2011, he has been the governor of Vorarlberg. Michael Ludwig (born 3 April 1961) is an Austrian politician of the Social Democratic Party (SPÖ). Since May 2018, he has been Mayor and Governor of Vienna, the capital and largest city of Austria.
