2021 Washington Mystics Season
The 2021 Washington Mystics season was the franchise's 24th season in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The regular season tipped off versus the Chicago Sky on May 15, 2021. The Mystics struggled to start the season only winning two of their six games in the month of May. Their fortunes rebounded when they posted a .500 winning percentage through June and in their two games in July before the Olympic break. In closing out their pre-Olympic schedule they won in overtime versus the Chicago Sky to finish the first portion of the schedule with an 8–10 record. Coming back from the break, they faced a tough schedule and posted a 2–6 record, including losing the first four games back from the break. To close out the season, September contained two wins book marked by two losses on either side. WNBA Eastern Conference
The Eastern Conference of the Women's National Basketball Association is made up of six teams. From the league's second season in 1998 through 2015, the WNBA operated separate playoff brackets for its Eastern and Western Conferences. Each conference's playoff was divided into two playoff rounds, the Conference Semi-Finals and the Conference Finals, with the Conference Finals winners receiving Conference Championships and advancing to the WNBA Finals to determine the WNBA champion. In the final years of this playoff scheme, all in-conference playoff series were best-of-three. Since 2016, the league has abandoned separate conference playoffs in favor of a single league-wide playoff bracket. The top eight teams in the regular season, without regard to conference affiliation, advance to the playoffs, which are seeded based strictly on regular-season record (with tiebreakers as needed). Erica McCall (born August 21, 1995) is an American professional basketball player who is currently a free agent. She played college basketball at Stanford University and completed her high school education at Ridgeview High School in Bakersfield, California. Early life Erica was born on August 21, 1995 to Gregory and Sonya McCall. She has two siblings, brother Justin McCall, and sister DeWanna Bonner, who plays basketball for the Connecticut Sun in the WNBA. USA Basketball McCall was named to the USA Basketball U16 team, which competed in the Second FIBA Americas U16 Championship in 2011, held in Merida, Mexico. Myisha Hines-Allen
Myisha Hines-Allen (born May 30, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for the Washington Mystics of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). In college she played for the University of Louisville. Growing up in Montclair, New Jersey, Hines-Allen was a fan of the WNBA, particularly the New York Liberty. She attended Montclair High School. Shavonte Zellous (born August 28, 1986) is an American-Croatian professional basketball player who is currently a free agent. She was a standout basketball player at the University of Pittsburgh. Zellous was drafted 11th in the first round of the 2009 WNBA Draft by the Shock. Aislinn "Ace" Konig is a Canadian-Austrian professional basketball player for the Flammes Carolo Basket of the Ligue Féminine de Basketball and the Canada women's national basketball team. A switch-up guard and a reliable, consistent three-point shooter, Konig is the most decorated British Columbia school player who has competed at NCAA Division 1 level and professionally in Europe.
