2021 Volta A Portugal
The 2021 Volta a Portugal (known as the 2021 Volta a Portugal em Bicicleta Santander for sponsorship reasons) was the 82nd edition of the Volta a Portugal road cycling stage race (not counting 2020 Volta a Portugal Edição Especial), which was held from 4 to 15 August 2021. It was a 2.1 event on the 2021 UCI Europe Tour calendar. Summary Before the beginning of stage 3, retired from the race due to COVID-19 positive tests among their riders. 2021 UCI Europe Tour
The 2021 UCI Europe Tour was the 17th season of the UCI Europe Tour. The season began on 24 January 2021 with the Trofeo Luis Puig, Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana 1969 – Gran Premio Valencia and ended on 24 October 2021 with the Ronde van Drenthe. Throughout the season, points were awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determined how many points are awarded to the top finishers; the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points were awarded. Individual Time Trial
An individual time trial (ITT) is a road bicycle race in which cyclists race alone against the clock (in French: ''contre la montre'' – literally "against the watch", in Italian: ''tappa a cronometro'' "stopwatch stage"). There are also track-based time trials where riders compete in velodromes, and team time trials (TTT). ITTs are also referred to as "the race of truth", as winning depends only on each rider's strength and endurance, and not on help provided by teammates and others riding ahead and creating a slipstream.
