2021 Tour De Suisse
The 2021 Tour de Suisse was a road cycling stage race that took place between 6 and 13 June 2021 in Switzerland. It was the 84th edition of the Tour de Suisse and the 20th event of the 2021 UCI World Tour. Teams All nineteen UCI WorldTeams are joined by three UCI ProTeams and the Swiss national team to make up the twenty-three teams that are participating in the race. Each team entered a squad of seven riders, for a total of 161 riders who started the race. Before Stage 4, pulled out of the race after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19. 124 riders finished the race. 2021 UCI World Tour
The 2021 UCI World Tour was a series of races that included twenty-nine road cycling events throughout the 2021 cycling season. The tour started with the opening stage of the UAE Tour on 21 February, and concluded with Il Lombardia on 9 October. Events The 2021 calendar was announced in the autumn of 2020. Cancelled events Due to COVID-19-related logistical concerns raised by teams regarding travel to Australia (including strict quarantine requirements), the Tour Down Under (19–24 January) and the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race (31 January) were cancelled. The organisers of the Tour Down Under held a "domestic cycling festival" known as the Santos Festival of Cycling in its place, which featured races in various disciplines (including a National Road Series event). Mathieu van der Poel (born 19 January 1995) is a Dutch cyclist who rides for the UCI ProTeam . He competes in the cyclo-cross, mountain bike racing, gravel cycling, and road bicycle racing disciplines of the sport and is best known for winning the Cyclo-cross World Championships in Tábor in 2015, Bogense in 2019, Dübendorf in 2020 and Ostend in 2021, the Junior Road Race World Championships in Florence in 2013, and twice winning the Junior Cyclo-cross World Championships, in Koksijde in 2012 and Louisville in 2013; the first rider to win multiple titles at that level. Neuhausen am Rheinfall (sometimes abbrv. as Neuhausen a. Rhf., called Neuhausen until 1938) is a town and a municipality in the canton of Schaffhausen in Switzerland. Stefan Küng (born 16 November 1993) is a Swiss cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He is also a citizen of Liechtenstein. Career Küng won the 2015 UCI Track Cycling World Championships – Men's individual pursuit, individual pursuit at the 2015 UCI Track Cycling World Championships, after beating Jack Bobridge in the final. Individual Time Trial
An individual time trial (ITT) is a road bicycle race in which cyclists race alone against the clock (in French: ''contre la montre'' – literally "against the watch", in Italian: ''tappa a cronometro'' "stopwatch stage"). There are also track-based time trials where riders compete in velodromes, and team time trials (TTT). ITTs are also referred to as "the race of truth", as winning depends only on each rider's strength and endurance, and not on help provided by teammates and others riding ahead and creating a slipstream.
