2021 Nigeria Women's Cup
The 2021 Nigeria Women's Cup (known as the 2021 Aiteo Women's Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 27th edition of the Nigeria Women's Cup, the main knockout tournament for women's football in Nigeria. Bayelsa Queens won their first Aiteo Cup after defeating Robo Queens 4–2 at the final after they had lost the previous six finals they played in. This also marked the first and only time two clubs from the same state won the Aiteo cup at both the men and women's edition in the same season as Bayelsa United also won the men's edition. Nasarawa Amazons were the defending champions but were eliminated by Robo Queens at the quarterfinals. Format 20 clubs from 19 states plus the FCT entered the tournament. The first round involves the 8 lowest placed clubs, the winners then proceed to the second round where they join the remaining 12 clubs. Bayelsa Queens
Bayelsa Queens is a Nigerian women football club based in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Nigeria. They play in the highest pyramid of women football in Nigeria. They have won three championships in the Nigeria Women Premier League in the year 2004, 2006 and 2007. History Bayelsa Queens was founded by former governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha in year 2000. The NWFL board documents that the club was the first female club in Nigeria to have her preseason abroad in 2007. Osun Babes
Osun Babes F.C. (formerly Comfort Queens F.C. and Oyinlola Queens F.C.) is a football club based in Osogbo, Osun State. It was founded in 1995 under the military rule of Anthony Udofia. They participate in the elite division of female football league system in Nigeria. In 2016, the government denied any plan of selling the club to private investors. History The club was founded as Comfort Queens F.C. in 1995. It was later renamed to FSP Obi Babes F.C.. The running of the club was terminated by year 2000.
