2021 New Zealand National League
The 2021 New Zealand National League was the first scheduled season of the National League since its restructuring in 2021. 30 clubs competed in the competition, with four having been planned to qualify from the Northern League, three qualifying from the Central League and two qualifying from the Southern League for the National Championship phase along with the automatically qualified Wellington Phoenix Reserves. Each team was allowed to field a maximum of four foreign players as well as one additional foreign player who has Oceania Football Confederation nationality. Each team had to also have at least two players aged 20 or under in the starting eleven. Because the Wellington Phoenix Reserves need to hold a partnership with an affiliated club through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to be in the league and have a place in the Championship phase, their current MoU was with Lower Hutt City. New Zealand National League
The New Zealand Men's National League is a men's football league at the top of the New Zealand football league system. Founded in 2021, the New Zealand National League is the successor to the New Zealand Football Championship. The league will be contested by ten teams, with teams qualifying from their regional leagues. Four teams qualify from the Northern League, three qualify from the Central League, two qualify from the newly formed Southern League and the Wellington Phoenix Reserves are automatically given a spot each year. The regional leagues runs from March through to September, with each league having a varying number of games. The Championship phase runs after the completion of the regional phase with each team playing each other once, followed by a grand final. West Coast Rangers
West Coast Rangers Football Club is an amateur football club based in Whenuapai, New Zealand. Formed in 2021 as an amalgamation between Waitakere City and Norwest United, West Coast Rangers previously competed in the Northern League which is part of the qualifying leagues for the New Zealand National League but were relegated after one season. The women's team currently competes in the New Zealand Women's National League. The club also competes in both the Chatham Cup and Kate Sheppard Cup, New Zealand's premier knockout tournaments for men and women. Both teams received a bye in the 2021 Chatham Cup and 2021 Kate Sheppard Cup preliminary round with the men's team also receiving a bye in the first round, along with other ranked teams. Mount Roskill
Mount Roskill is a suburban area in the city of Auckland, New Zealand. It is named for the volcanic peak Puketāpapa (commonly called "Mount Roskill" in English). Keith Hay Park is a reserve and sports ground in the suburb of Mount Roskill in Auckland, New Zealand. It is the home ground of New Zealand National League and Northern League side Auckland United and the Tri Star Gymnastics Club. Cameron Pools and Leisure Centre is also located at Keith Hay Park. Sandringham is a suburb of Auckland, New Zealand. It is a multi-ethnic suburb with a population of over 12,000. Sandringham Village is a walk of a few hundred metres south along Sandringham Rd from the Outer Link bus route, and has a strong South Asian influence in restaurants and small supermarkets, Halal butchers and Bollywood movies. Kiwitea Street, also known as Freyberg Field, is a multi-purpose stadium in the suburb of Sandringham in Auckland, New Zealand. It is used for football (soccer) matches and is the home stadium of both Auckland City FC and Central United. Terraced seating can accommodate 250 patrons.
