2021 NHK Trophy
The 2021 NHK Trophy was the fourth event in the 2021–22 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, a senior-level international invitational competition series. It was held at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo on November 12–14. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of single skating, men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, pairs, and ice dance. Skaters earned points toward qualifying for the 2021–22 Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, 2021–22 Grand Prix Final. ISU Grand Prix Of Figure Skating
The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating (known as ISU Champions Series from 1995 to 1997) is a series of senior international figure skating competitions organized by the International Skating Union. The invitational series was inaugurated in 1995, incorporating several previously existing events. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of single skating, men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The junior-level equivalent is the ISU Junior Grand Prix. 2021–22 ISU Grand Prix Of Figure Skating
The 2021–22 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating was a series of invitational senior internationals held from October 2021 through December 2021. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. Skaters earned points based on their placement at each event and the top six in each discipline qualified to compete at the Grand Prix Final in Osaka, Japan. The Grand Prix Final was cancelled on December 2, 2021, with the possibility of postponement to the end of the season, before being definitively cancelled on December 17. Organized by the International Skating Union, the series set the stage for the 2022 European, the 2022 Four Continents, and the 2022 World Championships, as well as the 2022 Winter Olympics. Nolan Seegert
Nolan Seegert (born 11 July 1992) is a German retired pair skater. With his skating partner, Minerva Fabienne Hase, he was the 2019 Rostelecom Cup bronze medalist, 2021 CS Nebelhorn Trophy champion, and three-time German national champion (2019–20, 2022). The pair represented Germany at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Personal life Seegert was born on 11 July 1992 in Berlin. He has studied sports science and biology at Humboldt University Berlin. Minerva Fabienne Hase (born 10 June 1999) is a German pair skater. With her skating partner, Nolan Seegert, she is the 2019 Rostelecom Cup bronze medalist, 2021 CS Nebelhorn Trophy champion, and three-time German national champion (2019–20, 2022). Nicole Schott (born 12 September 1996) is a German figure skater. She is the 2016 CS Warsaw Cup champion, the 2017 CS Tallinn Trophy bronze medalist, a two-time NRW Trophy champion (2014, 2016), and a seven-time German national champion (2012, 2015, 2018–20, 2022–23). 2021–22 Grand Prix Of Figure Skating Final
The 2021–22 Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final and ISU Junior Grand Prix Final were scheduled to be held from December 9–12, 2021 at the Towa Pharmaceutical Ractab Dome in Osaka, Japan. The combined event was to be the culmination of two international series — the Grand Prix of Figure Skating and the Junior Grand Prix. Medals would have been awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dance on the senior and junior levels. On December 2, 2021, the event was cancelled due to Japanese travel restrictions imposed in response to the Omicron variant (as part of the COVID-19 pandemic), with the possibility of postponement to the end of the season.
