2021 ISU World Team Trophy In Figure Skating
The 2021 ISU World Team Trophy is an international figure skating competition that was held from April 15–18, 2021 in Osaka, Japan. The top six International Skating Union members were invited to compete in a team format with points awarded based on skaters' placement. Participating countries selected two men's single skaters, two ladies' single skaters, one pair, and one ice dance entry for their team. Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic Despite the majority of the season's ISU Championship-level events having been cancelled during the COVID-19 pandemic, the ISU decided to host the World Team Trophy, if possible. 2020–21 Figure Skating Season
The 2020–21 figure skating season began on July 1, 2020, and ended on June 30, 2021. During this season, elite skaters competed on the ISU Championship level at the 2021 World Figure Skating Championships, 2021 World Championships. They also competed in elite events such as the 2020–21 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, Grand Prix series and the 2020–21 ISU Challenger Series, ISU Challenger Series. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ISU cancelled the 2020–21 ISU Junior Grand Prix, Junior Grand Prix series and the 2020–21 Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, Grand Prix Final. Nam Nguyen
Nam Nguyen (born May 20, 1998) is a Canadian retired competitive figure skater. He is the 2014 World Junior champion, 2019 Skate Canada silver medallist, and two-time Canadian national champion (2015, 2019). He has placed as high as fifth at the World Championships, in 2015. Personal life Nam Nguyen was born May 20, 1998 in Ottawa. Both of his parents are from Vietnam — his father, Sony, moved to Canada in 1988 and sponsored his wife, Thu, in 1994. His father is an engineer and his mother works for a medical software company. His sister, Kim, is six years younger and is also a figure skater. 2021 World Figure Skating Championships
The 2021 World Figure Skating Championships were held in Stockholm, Sweden from March 22–28, 2021. Figure skaters competed for the title of world champion in men's singles, ladies' singles, pairs, and ice dance. The competition was used to determine the entry quotas for each federation at the 2022 World Championships and was the first qualification event for the 2022 Winter Olympics. Stockholm was announced as the host in June 2018. It was the first time that Stockholm had hosted the World Championships since 1947 and the first time that Sweden had hosted since 2008. The World Championships were the only ISU Championship event held during the 2020–21 season, as the European, Four Continents, and World Junior Championships were all cancelled. The rhythm dance (RD) is the first segment of an ice dance competition. The short program of figure skating is the first of two segments of competitions, skated before the free skating program. It lasts, for both senior and junior singles and pair skaters, 2 minutes and 40 seconds. In synchronized skating, for both juniors and seniors, the short program lasts 2 minutes and 50 seconds. ITU Triathlon World Cup
The World Triathlon Cup is an annual series of triathlon races staged around the world. The series is organised by the World Triathlon, the world governing body of the sport. Inaugurated in 1991, the World Cup began as an attempt to create a regular season under its management in tandem with the ITU Triathlon World Championship race. However, this meant that there was a World Cup champion as well as a world champion.
