2021 Hylo Open
The 2021 Hylo Open was a badminton tournament which took place at the Saarlandhalle in Saarbrücken, Germany, from 2 to 7 November 2021 with a total prize of US$320,000. In 2021, the tournament changed its name from SaarLorLux Open to Hylo Open and was upgraded from a Super 100 tournament to a Super 500. Tournament The 2021 Hylo Open was the seventh tournament as the only planned Super 500 tournament of the 2021 BWF World Tour as many tournaments got canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a part of the Hylo Open, which had been held since 1988. The tournament was organized by the local organizer with sanction from the BWF. Saarlandhalle
Saarlandhalle is a 5,500-capacity multi-purpose indoor arena located in Saarbrücken, Germany. Originally opened in 1967 with funds from Saarland Sporttoto for sports competitions, it was later converted to multi-purpose indoor arena. The Ludwigsparkstadion is located near the hall. Saarlandhalle is also the first indoor arena in (West) Germany to be organized as a limited liability company. It has hosted concerts by many famous artists, including A-ha, AC/DC, Chris de Burgh, Depeche Mode, Bob Dylan, Boney M., Metallica, Pink Floyd, Sting and Uriah Heep, among others. These days larger productions refrain from visiting it, as technical requirements have generally extended to a degree which the Saarlandhalle cannot meet any longer with its given specs. BWF World Ranking
The BWF World Ranking is the official ranking of the Badminton World Federation for badminton players who participate in tournaments sanctioned by Badminton World Federation. It is used to determine the qualification for the World Championships and Summer Olympic Games, as well as BWF World Tour tournaments. Seedings of draws at all BWF-sanctioned tournaments are conducted using the BWF World Ranking. Players under 19 years of age are eligible to rank in the BWF World Junior Ranking, which were introduced in January 2011. Ajay Jayaram
Ajay Jayaram (born 28 September 1987) is an Indian retired badminton player from Chennai. He plays for the Mumbai Rockets in the Premier Badminton League. Jayaram is a champion of the Czech International and Dutch Open tournament. Ajay Jayaram did his schooling from Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School. Toma Junior Popov
Toma Junior Popov (born 29 September 1998) is a French badminton player. He won the bronze medal at the 2015 European Junior Championships in the boys' singles event. Popov made history as the first non-Danish male player to win a European Junior team gold as well as the men's singles and doubles in 2017. He joined Peter Gade, Jim Laugesen, and Thomas Stuer-Lauridsen as the only men to have ever completed the treble. Misha Zilberman
Misha Zilberman ( he, מישה זילברמן, russian: Миша Зильберман; born 30 January 1989) is an Israeli badminton player. He competed for Israel at the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Summer Olympics. He also won a bronze medal at the 2022 European Badminton Championships, and represented Israel at the 2015 and 2019 European Games. Lakshya Sen (born 16 August 2001) is an Indian badminton player. Sen is a former world junior no. 1. He has won gold medals at the 2018 Asian Junior Championships in the boys' singles and at the Summer Youth Olympics in the mixed team event. Kantaphon Wangcharoen
Kantaphon Wangcharoen ( th, กันตภณ หวังเจริญ; born 18 September 1998) is a Thai badminton player. At the young age, Wangcharoen became the runner-up in the senior tournament 2014 Singapore International in the men's singles event after losing the match because of foot injury. Wangcharoen clinched the bronze medal at the World Junior Championships in the boys' singles event, also part of the junior team that won the mixed team bronze in 2014 and 2016, and Asian mixed team bronze in 2016. Srikanth Kidambi (born 7 February 1993) is an Indian badminton player. A former world no. 1, Kidambi was awarded the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian award, in 2018. and the Arjuna award in 2015. Angus Ng Ka-long (born 24 June 1994) is a badminton player from Hong Kong. He has a career-high ranking of 6th in the men's singles discipline.
