2021 Gran Premio D'Italia
The 2021 Gran Premio d'Italia was the third event in the 2021–22 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, a senior-level international invitational competition series. It was held at the Torino Palavela in Turin on November 5–7. It was the replacement event for Cup of China. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dance. Skaters earned points toward qualifying for the 2021–22 Grand Prix Final. On August 27, 2021, the International Skating Union announced that the Gran Premio d'Italia would replace Cup of China, which was cancelled on August 16 due to travel restrictions and quarantine requirements related to the COVID-19 pandemic. In an attempt to preserve the Grand Prix series, the ISU asked for other ISU members to apply as hosts on the originally scheduled dates. ISU Grand Prix Of Figure Skating
The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating (known as ISU Champions Series from 1995 to 1997) is a series of senior international figure skating competitions organized by the International Skating Union. The invitational series was inaugurated in 1995, incorporating several previously existing events. Ice Dance
Ice dance (sometimes referred to as ice dancing) is a discipline of figure skating that historically draws from ballroom dancing. It joined the World Figure Skating Championships in 1952, and became a Winter Olympic Games medal sport in 1976. Chen Yudong (; born 28 September 2004) is a Chinese figure skater. He is the 2020 Cup of China bronze medalist, the 2020 Chinese Figure Skating Championships, 2020 Chinese junior national champion, and the 2022 Chinese Figure Skating Championships, 2022 Chinese national champion. Shane Firus (born February 21, 1994) is a Canadian ice dancer. With his skating partner, Carolane Soucisse, he is the 2018 Four Continents silver medallist. They have finished fourth at the 2017 and 2018 Canadian Championships and represented Canada on the Grand Prix circuit and at the World Championships. Loena Hendrickx (; born 5 November 1999) is a Belgian figure skater. The 2018 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, Grand Prix of Helsinki was held in Helsinki, Finland, from November 2–4.
