2021 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships
The 2021 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships were scheduled to be held from February 9–14, 2021 in Sydney, Australia. Held annually since 1999, the competition would have featured skaters from the Americas, Asia, Africa, and Oceania. Medals were to be awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pairs, and ice dance. Sydney was announced as the host in June 2019. Following the cancellation of the event on October 16, 2020, the International Skating Union provisionally awarded Sydney the right to host the 2023 edition of the event. It is at the discretion of each member country which skaters, pairs or synchronized skating teams are sent to which championship. Ice Dance
Ice dance (sometimes referred to as ice dancing) is a discipline of figure skating that historically draws from ballroom dancing. The free dance (FD) is a segment of an ice dance competition, the second contested. It follows the rhythm dance (RD). Rhythm Dance
The rhythm dance (RD) is the first segment of an ice dance competition. Short Program (figure Skating)
The short program of figure skating is the first of two segments of competitions, skated before the free skating program. It lasts, for both senior and junior singles and pair skaters, 2 minutes and 40 seconds. In synchronized skating, for both juniors and seniors, the short program lasts 2 minutes and 50 seconds. 2021 European Figure Skating Championships
The 2021 European Figure Skating Championships were scheduled to be held from 25 to 31 January 2021 in Zagreb, Croatia. Medals would have been awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pairs, and ice dance. Zagreb was announced as the host in June 2018. The city previously hosted the competition in 1974, 1979, 2008, and 2013. The competition was cancelled by the International Skating Union on 10 December 2020, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This was the first time since World War II that the European Championships were not held. 2020 Skate Canada International
The 2020 Skate Canada International was scheduled to be the second event in the 2020–21 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, a senior-level international invitational competition series. It would have been held at TD Place Arena in Ottawa, Ontario on October 30–31. Medals were to be awarded in the disciplines of single skating, men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, a large number of modifications were made to the Grand Prix structure. 2020–21 ISU Challenger Series
The 2020–21 ISU Challenger Series was scheduled to be held from September 9 to December 5, 2020. It was the seventh season that the ISU Challenger Series, a group of senior-level international figure skating competitions ranked below the ISU Grand Prix, was held.
