2021 CFL Draft
The 2021 CFL National Draft was a selection of National players by Canadian Football League teams that took place at May 4, 2021 at 7:00 pm ET and was broadcast on TSN and RDS. 54 players were chosen from among eligible players from Canadian universities across the country, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA. Unlike previous drafts, where the selection order was determined by the previous year's standings, this year's draft order was determined by a random draw. The draft was broadcast live on TSN for the first two rounds. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, some commentators broadcast from remote locations as opposed to in-studio. The TSN production was hosted by Rod Smith and featured the CFL on TSN panel which included Farhan Lalji, Duane Forde, and Davis Sanchez. Canadian Football

Rod Smith (sportscaster)
Rod Smith is a Canadian sports commentator and host of TSN's SportsCentre. He formerly hosted the ''CFL on TSN'' before being replaced by Kate Beirness in 2021. He is currently the lead play-by-play announcer for the ''CFL on TSN''. Career Smith has been with TSN since 1987, joining as an editorial assistant for '' SportsCentre'' (then ''SportsDesk''). He became a reporter in 1992 and has presented ''SportsCentre'' since 1995. He was also a play-by-play announcer for ''CFL on TSN'' and CIS University Football. At the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, Smith provided the play-by-play commentary for Long Track Speed Skating. Offensive Lineman
In gridiron football, a lineman is a player who specializes in play at the line of scrimmage. The linemen of the team currently in possession of the ball are the offensive line, while linemen on the opposing team are the defensive line. A number of NFL rules specifically address restrictions and requirements for the offensive line, whose job is to help protect the quarterback from getting sacked for a loss, or worse, fumbling. Alaric Jackson (born July 14, 1998) is a Canadian-born American football offensive tackle for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Iowa. Early life and high school Jackson was born and grew up in Windsor, Ontario before moving to Detroit, Michigan. Joshua Keith Palmer (born September 22, 1999) is a Canadian-born American football wide receiver for the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Tennessee and was drafted by the Chargers in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Redshirt, in United States college athletics, is a delay or suspension of an athlete's participation in order to lengthen their period of eligibility. Typically, a student's athletic eligibility in a given sport is four seasons, aligning with the four years of academic classes typically required to earn a bachelor's degree at an American college or university. However, in a redshirt year, student athletes may attend classes at the college or university, practice with an athletic team, and "suit up" (wear a team uniform) for play – but they may compete in only a limited number of games (see " Use of status" section). 2020 CFL Season
The 2020 CFL season would have been the 67th season of modern-day Canadian football. Officially, it would have been the 63rd season of the Canadian Football League. It was originally scheduled to begin on June 11; on April 7, the start of the season was delayed to begin no sooner than July due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. The CFL planned to obtain financial assistance from the federal government. In May, the CFL delayed the season to no sooner than September, and announced that the Grey Cup was to be played as a home advantage game rather than as a neutral site game in Regina, Saskatchewan, as originally planned. Randy Ambrosie
Randy Ambrosie (born March 16, 1963) is the 14th and current commissioner of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Ambrosie played Canadian football professionally as an offensive guard for the CFL's Calgary Stampeders, Toronto Argonauts, and Edmonton Eskimos. He was selected with the second overall pick in the 1985 CFL Draft by the Stampeders. Over the course of a nine-season career, he played in 142 professional games and became a Grey Cup champion. Davis Sanchez
Davis Sanchez (born August 7, 1974) is a former football player who played cornerback in both the Canadian Football League and National Football League. He is the co-founder of the TSN Edge and is an NFL and CFL game analyst at TSN. Early years Sanchez attended North Delta Secondary School where he played basketball, but not football. He played one year of college basketball then turned his attention completely to football. A member of the Butte College sports hall of fame he was a 1st team All - American and California JC Defensive Player of the year before signing with the Oregon Ducks.
