2020–21 UMBC Retrievers Men's Basketball Team
The 2020–21 UMBC Retrievers men's basketball team represented the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Retrievers, led by fifth-year head coach Ryan Odom, played their home games at the UMBC Event Center in Catonsville, Maryland as members of the America East Conference. In a season limited due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Retrievers finished the season 14–6, 10–4 in America East play, to finish in a tie for first place. They lost to UMass Lowell in the semifinals of the America East tournament. Following the season, Odom left the school to accept the head coaching position at Utah State. On April 12, 2021, the school named former Duquesne and Penn State head coach Jim Ferry as the team's new head coach. Ryan Odom
Robert Ryan Odom (born July 11, 1974) is an American men's college basketball coach who is currently the head coach of the VCU Rams men's basketball team. He was previously the head coach of the Lenoir–Rhyne Bears, the UMBC Retrievers, and the Utah State Aggies. Odom served as the interim head coach of the Charlotte 49ers men's basketball team from January 6 until March 15, 2015. In this capacity, he replaced Alan Major when Major went on a medical leave of absence to deal with chronic health issues. After one season as head coach at Lenoir–Rhyne, Odom was head coach at UMBC from 2016 to 2021. In the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament, UMBC upset no. 1 seed Virginia and became the first no. 16 seed to beat a no. 1 seed in NCAA Division I men's tournament history. 2020 America East Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2020 America East men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the America East Conference, which was held on March 7, 10, and canceled before its scheduled conclusion on March 14, 2020. All tournament games were played on home arenas of the higher-seeded school. The winner would have received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, which itself was also cancelled to help curtail the spread of COVID-19. Seeds The top eight teams in the conference standings qualify for the tournament. The teams are seeded by record in conference, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records. Adel ( ) is a city in and the county seat of Dallas County, Iowa. It is located along the North Raccoon River. Its population was 6,153 at the time of the 2020 Census. History Adel is the oldest town within Dallas County. Originally called Penoach, Adel was incorporated in 1847, and changed to its current name in 1849.
