The 2020 Sundance Film Festival took place from January 23 to February 2, 2020. The first lineup of competition films was announced on December 4, 2019. The institute is driven by its programs that discover and support independent filmmakers, theatre artists and composers from all over the world. Channing Godfrey Peoples is an American writer, director, and producer. Her feature film directorial debut ''Miss Juneteenth'' received critical acclaim. Early life and education Peoples was raised on the south side of Fort Worth in what she referred to as "Black Texas". Her family regularly attended Black theatre performances, which influenced Peoples to read classic Black literature by writers such as Toni Morrison and Gloria Naylor. She received her bachelor's degree in theater from Baylor University and her master of fine arts degree from University of Southern California. Lee Isaac Chung (born October 19, 1978) is an American film director and screenwriter. Ekwa Msangi
Ekwa Msangi is a Tanzanian-American filmmaker, producer, and screenwriter. She teaches Production and Cultural Studies at New York University. Early life Msangi was born to immigrants in Oakland, California. Her parents were Fulbright scholars who attended Stanford University in the 1980s. She was raised in Kenya after her family moved back when she was five years old. In 1998, was accepted into the NYU Tisch School of the Arts where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in film and television.
