2020 Norwegian Women's Cup
The 2020 Norwegian Women's Cup was the 43rd season of the Norwegian annual knock-out football tournament. It began on 30 September 2020, severely belated due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Norway. Also, the cup was open to clubs in the first two tiers only. The clubs of the 2020 Toppserien entered in the first round, whereas the rest of the clubs in the 2020 1. divisjon contested a preliminary round. LSK Kvinner FK
LSK Kvinner Fotballklubb is a Norwegian women's football club from Lillestrøm. They currently play in Toppserien, the top division of Norwegian football. The club was founded as Setskog/Høland Fotballklubb on 10 October 1989. History The club was founded in 1989 as a merger between the women's football branches of Setskog IF and Høland IL. It was known as Setskog/Høland FK and played their home games on AHF-banen in Bjørkelangen, Aurskog-Høland. Before the 2001 season the club was relocated from Bjørkelangen to Strømmen and the name was changed to Team Strømmen. Team Strømmen finished the 2008 season in 2nd position in Toppserien, the top division of Norwegian football. They lost 1–3 against league champions Røa IL in the Norwegian Cup final on Bislett Stadion on 8 November 2008. From 2010 the team will be a part of Lillestrøm SK. Medkila IL
Medkila IL is a football team from Harstad in North Norway, most notable for its women's football team which is playing in the 1. divisjon, the second tier of Norwegian women's football. Medkila first came to prominence after winning the 2003 Norwegian Women's Cup while playing in the First Division. Medkila knocked out Leknes FK (1-10), Grand Bodø (1-5), IF Fløya (2-1), IL Sandviken (6-1) and Team Strømmen (1-3), and beat Kolbotn (2-1) in the final. That same year they were promoted to Toppserien for the first time. Medkila couldn't avoid relegation in their first season in top-flight and were back in 1. divisjon for the 2005 season. Ajara Nchout Njoya (born 12 January 1993) is a Cameroonian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Serie A club Inter Milan and the Cameroon women's national team. Early life Born in Njissé, Foumban, Nchout states that her family discouraged her from playing football, preferring that she instead focus on education. Club career In January 2015 Nchout agreed to join Western New York Flash of the NWSL. She had previously played in the Russian Top Division for FC Energy Voronezh and WFC Rossiyanka. Lyn Fotball Damer is the women's football branch of Lyn Fotball. The team plays in Toppserien, the top division of women's football in Norway. Lyn formed a women's team in the fifth tier ''4. divisjon'' in 2009. The team promoted to the second tier in 2012, their third consecutive promotion. In 2017, after five seasons spent in 1. divisjon, Lyn promoted to the 2018 Toppserien. The team finished their first top tier season in eleventh place, and became tenth in the 2019 season. Arna-Bjørnar Fotball is a Norwegian football club from Arna, Bergen. It was founded in late 2000 as a merger between the football branches from ''IL Bjørnar'' and ''Arna T&IL'', and replaced Bjørnar IL in the league system from 2001. The women's team has played since then in the '' Toppserien'' apart from the 2005 season when it was in the First divisjon. Prominent members of the women's team (2009) are goalkeepers Reidun Seth and Erika Skarbø, and Nigerian keeper Precious Dede brought in to cover while Skarbø recovers from a long-term wrist injury. Avaldsnes Idrettslag is a Norwegian sports club from Avaldsnes, Karmøy, Rogaland. It was founded on 16 June 1937. The club has sections for football and handball. Women's football The women's team began play in 1989, winning the 1st Division of West Norway in 1997, before the team was dissolved in 1999 and then resurrected in 2002. Stabæk Fotball Kvinner is Stabæk IF's women's football team, started on 23 October 2008 with a core of players from Asker. Asker had lost its licence to play in the top league after a failure to meet financial targets, and Stabæk's chairman Mimi Berdal arranged for the new team to be formed within Stabæk IF. The team was immediately joined by other players including Solveig Gulbrandsen. Stabæk plays in the Toppserien, the top women's league in Norway. The new team set an attendance record in its first match, with 1,321 spectators watching a 2–0 win over Røa, and these two teams have dominated the Norwegian league and cup competitions since then. Stabæk won the league championship in 2010 and thus qualified for the 2011–12 UEFA Women's Champions League to debut in Europe. Klepp IL
Klepp IL is a Norwegian sports club from the municipality of Klepp. It was founded on 1 October 1919, and has sections for football, handball and gymnastics as well as the less active sections for athletics and orienteering. Best known for their women's football team, Klepp Elite women currently play in the Toppserien, and have the distinction of being in the Norwegian top flight since its inception. Additionally, Klepp Elite have won the league in 1987 and 1989. Klepp Elite have also won the National Championship Norgesmester for Junior Girls U19 more than any other club, winning in 2008, 2011, 2016, 2018 and most recently in 2019. Fotballaget Fart is a Norwegian football club based in Vang outside Hamar. The club is most noted for their women's team which played in Toppserien in 2008, 2012 and 2019. Their home matches are played at Fartbana. Norway international footballers Thorstein Helstad and Kristin Bekkevold started their careers at Fart. History Fotballaget Fart was first founded in 1917, before it was dissolved after nine years of activity. The club was refounded on 28 August 1934. The club got its first pitch with grass in 1958. The name means "the football team speed" in Norwegian. In July 2014 FL Fart received 4 million krone from the will of a fan who bequeathed his belongings to the club. Røa IL is a Norwegian sports club from Røa in the borough of Vestre Aker, Oslo. It was founded on 11 November 1900, and has sections for football, gymnastics, bandy, and cross-country skiing. Football, bandy, and Nordic skiing have been dominant in Røa. In bandy, the team has twice made it to the finals in the Norwegian cup, losing both to arch-rivals Stabæk.
