2020 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour
The 2020 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour was the thirty-sixth season of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT), a stock car racing tour sanctioned by NASCAR. It began with the Wade Cole Memorial 133 at Jennerstown Speedway on June 21 and concluded at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on October 11. Justin Bonsignore won the championship, his second. Schedule On November 5, 2019, NASCAR announced the 2020 Whelen Modified Tour schedule. Among the 17 races was an inaugural stop at Iowa Speedway and returns to Jennerstown Speedway Complex and Martinsville Speedway. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, the Martinsville date was cancelled, and many of the early-season races were postponed. NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour
The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) (previously the NASCAR Winston Modified Tour and NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series from 1985 until 2005) is a modified stock car racing series owned and operated by NASCAR in the Modified Division. The Modified Division is NASCAR's oldest division, and is the only open-wheeled division that NASCAR sanctions. NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour events are mainly held in the northeastern United States, but the 2007 and 2008 tours expanded to the Midwest with the addition of a race in Mansfield, Ohio. The tour races primarily on short oval paved tracks, but the NWMT also has made appearances at larger ovals and road courses. North Woodstock is a census-designated place (CDP) and the primary village in the town of Woodstock in Grafton County, New Hampshire, United States. It had a population of 739 at the 2020 census. Robert Santos III (born October 3, 1985) is an American professional racing driver from Franklin, Massachusetts. He graduated in 2004 from Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School. Santos, nicknamed "Bobby New England", is the grandson of Bobby Santos, a former modified racer. His sister, Erica Santos, is also a racecar driver. He is the cousin of former University of New Hampshire quarterback Ricky Santos. Early career Before stock cars, Santos was a successful midget racer. Andy Seuss
Andrew T. Seuss (born March 15, 1987) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He won two consecutive championships in 2014 and 2015 in the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour. Seuss has also competed in the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Whelen Modified Tour, ARCA Menards Series and ARCA Menards Series East. Racing career Early years Seuss started in go-kart racing, running at Sugar Hill Speedway in Weare, New Hampshire. He later moved up to late model racing. Frank Douglas Coby III (born August 18, 1979) is an American professional racing driver who competes full-time in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, driving the No. 10 Ford/Chevrolet for his team, Doug Coby Racing, he has also competed part-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, driving the No. 24 Chevrolet Silverado for GMS Racing. Stafford Motor Speedway is a semi-banked 1/2 mile paved oval located in Stafford Springs, Connecticut. Stafford Speedway holds weekly racing every Friday night May through September. Loudon is a town in Merrimack County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 5,576 at the 2020 census. Loudon is the home of New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
