2020 IIHF Women's World Championship Division I
The 2020 IIHF Women's World Championship Division I was scheduled to be two international ice hockey tournaments organised by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The Division I Group A tournament would have been played in Angers, France, from 12 to 18 April 2020, and the Division I Group B tournament in Reykjavík, Iceland, from 28 March to 3 April 2020. On 2 March 2020, the Division I Group B tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Five days later, the Division I Group A tournament was cancelled as well. 2019 IIHF Women's World Championship Division I
The 2019 IIHF Women's World Championship Division I was two international ice hockey tournaments organised by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The Division I Group A tournament was played in Budapest, Hungary, from 7 to 13 April 2019, and the Division I Group B tournament was played in Beijing, China, from 6 to 12 April 2019. Hungary and Denmark earned promotion to the Top Division in Division I Group A, while the Netherlands gained promotion after their Division I Group B victory. IIHF Women's World Championship Division II
The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF; french: Fédération internationale de hockey sur glace; german: Internationale Eishockey-Föderation) is a worldwide governing body for ice hockey. It is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and has 83 member countries. The IIHF maintains the IIHF World Ranking based on international ice hockey tournaments. Rules of play for IIHF events differ from hockey in North America and the rules of the National Hockey League (NHL). Decisions of the IIHF can be appealed through the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland. The IIHF maintains its own hall of fame for international ice hockey. The IIHF Hall of Fame was founded in 1997, and has been located within the Hockey Hall of Fame since 1998. The 2021 IIHF Women's World Championship Division II was scheduled to be two international ice hockey tournaments organised by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The Division II Group A tournament would have been held in Jaca, Spain, from 10 to 16 April 2021 and the Division II Group B tournament in Zagreb, Croatia, from 7 to 13 March 2021. In 2020, Australia was initially promoted but after Division II Group A was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they remain in Division II Group B. On 18 November 2020, both tournaments were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
