The 2020 Hank Steinbrecher Cup was planned to be the eighth edition of the United States Adult Soccer Association's (USASA) tournament whose winner is recognized with the title of U.S. National Amateur Champions. This edition was canceled in April due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. USL League Two (USL L2) side Flint City Bucks were the defending champion, having won the last three competitions. Host selection Flint City Bucks were selected to host the tournament following their crowning as the 2019 National Amateur Champion. Teams The tournament would have featured the 2019 USASA National Amateur Cup winner Newtown Pride FC and the defending Steinbrecher Cup winner Flint City Bucks. Flint City Bucks is an American soccer team based in Flint, Michigan, United States. Founded in 1995, the team plays in USL League Two, the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. The club was founded in 1995 as the Mid-Michigan Bucks, playing in Saginaw, and began playing in 1996. In 2004, the club changed its name to the Michigan Bucks following a move to Plymouth. USL League Two (USL2), formerly the Premier Development League (PDL), is a semi-professional developmental soccer league sponsored by United Soccer Leagues in the United States and Canada, forming part of the United States soccer league system. The National Amateur Cup, also known as the USASA Amateur Cup, is an American soccer competition open to all amateur teams affiliated with the United States Soccer Federation through United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA). In 1923, U.S. Soccer established the National Amateur Cup in response to the growing number of teams entering the open National Challenge Cup (now known as the U.S. Open Cup). Newtown Pride FC is an American soccer team based in the Sandy Hook, Connecticut, Sandy Hook section of Newtown, Connecticut. History The team was founded in 1998 by father and son Mike and Matt Svanda. In 2019, the team won the 2019 National Amateur Cup, National Amateur Cup for the first time in its history, becoming the second team from Connecticut, & first since 1967, to win the Cup. Reading United AC is an American soccer team based in Reading, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1995, the team plays in USL League Two, the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid.
