2020 German Darts Championship
The 2020 German Darts Championship was a PDC European Tour event on the 2020 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament took place at Halle 39, Hildesheim, Germany. It featured a field of 48 players and £140,000 in prize money, with £25,000 going to the winner. It was the second event on the 2020 European Tour. Daryl Gurney was the defending champion after defeating Ricky Evans 8–6 in the final of the 2019 tournament, but he lost 6–2 to Danny Noppert in the quarter-finals. Devon Petersen won his first PDC title, beating Jonny Clayton 8–3 in the final, which also meant he became the first player from Africa to win a PDC ranking title outside of Africa. Hildesheim
Hildesheim (; nds, Hilmessen, Hilmssen; la, Hildesia) is a city in Lower Saxony, Germany with 101,693 inhabitants. Daniel Larsson (darts Player)
Daniel Larsson (born 9 June 1981) is a Swedish professional darts player. Career Larsson reached the semi final of the 2006 WDF Europe Cup, scoring wins over Tony O'Shea and Martin Phillips before losing to Niels de Ruiter. He then reached the final of the Sweden National Championship, losing to Alan Norris. On 4 December 2008 Larsson qualified for the 2009 BDO World Darts Championship, winning one of five spots. He defeated Steve Farmer in the earlier rounds and then beat Paul Gibbs and Stephen Bunting to qualify. He was drawn against O'Shea in the first round and lost 3–0. In 2018 Larsson competed on the PDC Nordic & Baltic Pro Tour, finishing in the top two to qualify for the 2019 PDC World Darts Championship. Nathan Aspinall
Nathan Aspinall (born 15 July 1991) is an English professional darts player currently playing in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He won the 2019 UK Open with a 170 checkout in the final leg against former World Champion Rob Cross. Career Aspinall began playing in PDC Development and Challenge Tour events in 2012. His first semi-final in those came in 2013, where he lost 4–2 to Max Hopp. He won a two-year PDC Tour Card in 2015 through the Q School Order of Merit and qualified for the UK Open, where he beat Chris Dobey 5–1 and James Richardson 9–4, before losing 4–9 to James Wade in the fourth round. Joe Cullen (darts Player)
Joe Cullen (born 13 July 1989) is an English professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He won three Youth Tour tournaments in his early career and has qualified for the PDC World Championship twelve times, winning only thrice in the first round. Cullen reached his first major quarter-final at the 2016 UK Open and won his first PDC Pro Tour title in 2017. He won his first televised title at the 2022 Masters. Glen Durrant
Glen Durrant (born 24 November 1970), nicknamed "Duzza", is an English former professional darts player who played in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He previously won the BDO World Darts Championship three times consecutively from 2017 to 2019. He is also a one-time World Trophy, two-time World Masters and three-time Finder Darts Masters champion. After switching to the PDC in 2019, Durrant secured his maiden PDC major title by winning the 2020 Premier League. James Wade
James Martin Wade (born 6 April 1983) is an English professional darts player, currently playing in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). He became the youngest player to win a major PDC title, when he won the 2007 World Matchplay at the age of 24. This record has since been broken by Michael van Gerwen. Wade has won eleven PDC majors, third in the all-time list behind Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen. He is widely considered one of the best left handed darts players of all time. Mensur Suljović
Mensur Suljović (Serbian Cyrillic: Менсур Суљовић; born 5 March 1972) is an Austrian professional darts player. He plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, having previously played in the British Darts Organisation (BDO). Nicknamed The Gentle, Suljović is noted for his unorthodox throwing action and favouring double 14 as his finishing double where possible. Krzysztof Ratajski
Krzysztof Ratajski (Polish pronunciation: ; born 1 January 1977) is a Polish professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. His biggest achievement to date was winning the 2017 World Masters. Ratajski also plays on the Professional Darts Corporation's ProTour and has represented Poland at the PDC World Cup of Darts on numerous occasions. Dave Chisnall (born 12 September 1980) is an English professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He began his career in the British Darts Organisation (BDO) and was the runner-up in their World Championship in 2010. He switched to the PDC a year later where he has since reached six major TV finals and won 17 PDC ranking events. Peter Wright (born 10 March 1970) is a Scottish professional darts player who plays in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), where he is currently ranked No. 2 in the world. Nicknamed "Snakebite", he is regarded as one of the greatest players of all time and is a two-time world champion, having won the PDC World Darts Championship in 2020 and 2022. Gerwyn Stephen Price (born 7 March 1985) is a Welsh professional darts player and former professional rugby union and rugby league player. Nicknamed "The Iceman", he competes in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), where he is currently the World No. 4. Ian White (born 17 August 1970), nicknamed Diamond, is an English professional darts player currently playing in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. White is the winner of 13 PDC ranking events, and has reached many quarter-finals in majors. In 2019, he reached his first major semi final. Career In 1997, White reached the final of the PDC's revived News of the World Darts Championship.
