2020 European Darts Open
The 2020 PDC Pro Tour was a series of non-televised darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Players Championships and European Tour events are the events that make up the Pro Tour. There were 27 PDC Pro Tour events held, 23 Players Championships and 4 European Tour events. This page also includes results from the PDC's affiliated tours including the Development and Challenge Tours and all the regional tours as well as the results from the World Championship regional qualifiers. There were 10 Challenge Tour events, 10 Development Tour events, 2 PDC Nordic and Baltic Events, 6 Dartplayers Australia Pro Tour events, 3 EuroAsian Darts Corporation Pro Tour Events and 8 Championship Darts Circuit Pro Tour events during the 2020 season. All tours were disrupted, and in the case of the PDC Asian Tour cancelled, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. PDC Pro Tour
The PDC Pro Tour is a series of non-televised darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). They comprise Professional Dart Players Association (PDPA) Players Championships and European Tour events. Only four players have gone on to win at least 30 titles on the PDC Pro Tour. Michael van Gerwen has won the most Pro Tour titles winning 84. Phil Taylor is second on the list winning 70 events, Peter Wright third winning 32 events and Gary Anderson in fourth winning 31 events, as of September 2022. Pro Tour Card Since 2011, the PDC Pro Tour has operated a Tour Card system. 128 players are granted Tour Cards, which enables them to participate in all Players Championships. 2020 European Darts Grand Prix
The 2020 European Darts Grand Prix was the third PDC European Tour event on the 2020 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament took place at the Glaspalast, Sindelfingen, Germany from 16–18 October 2020. It featured a field of 48 players and £140,000 in prize money, with £25,000 going to the winner. Ian White was the defending champion, after defeating Peter Wright 8–7 in the 2019 final. However, he lost 7–6 to José de Sousa in the semi-finals. De Sousa won his first European Tour title after beating Michael van Gerwen 8–4 in the final. The tournament was postponed from its original date of 20–22 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany. 2020 German Darts Championship
The 2020 German Darts Championship was a PDC European Tour event on the 2020 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament took place at Halle 39, Hildesheim, Germany. It featured a field of 48 players and £140,000 in prize money, with £25,000 going to the winner. It was the second event on the 2020 European Tour. Daryl Gurney was the defending champion after defeating Ricky Evans 8–6 in the final of the 2019 tournament, but he lost 6–2 to Danny Noppert in the quarter-finals. Devon Petersen won his first PDC title, beating Jonny Clayton 8–3 in the final, which also meant he became the first player from Africa to win a PDC ranking title outside of Africa. Park H in Hasselt, Belgium is one of the biggest event complexes in the Benelux. The first halls, the Grenslandhallen, were built in 1983. In 2002 one of the first halls has been transformed into a congress theatre for musicals, concerts, ... up to 5000 people. The 2020 Belgian Darts Championship was the first of four PDC European Tour events on the 2020 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament took place at the Expo Hasselt, Hasselt, Belgium, from 28 February–1 March 2020. It featured a field of 48 players and £140,000 in prize money, with £25,000 going to the winner. This was the first PDC European Tour event to take place in Belgium. Gerwyn Price won his third European Tour title with an 8–3 win over Michael Smith in the final.
