2020 European Canoe Slalom Championships
The 2020 European Canoe Slalom Championships took place in Prague, Czech Republic from 18 to 20 September 2020. Originally they were scheduled to take place in London, England, from 15 to 17 May 2020. However, on 18 March, the European Canoe Association announced that the event had been cancelled, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Later on it was announced that the event would be held in Prague instead of one of the rounds of the World Cup series. It was the 21st edition of the competition, and took place at the Prague-Troja Canoeing Centre The Prague Canoeing Centre is one of the most frequently used venues for international canoe slalom competition. Liam Jegou
Liam Jegou (; born 9 January 1996) is an Irish slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2011. He is based in France but competes for Ireland. He competes in C1 individually and also competed in C2 with Cade Ryan from 2012 to 2014. Jegou was born in Brittany to an Irish mother and a Breton father. For the first two years of his life, he grew up in Switzerland, before moving to Ballyvaughan, County Clare for the next five years. At the age of seven, his family relocated to Huningue, France. He won a silver medal in the C1 team event at the 2020 European Championships in Prague. He has also won two medals at the ICF World Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom Championships, with one silver in the junior category (C1: 2014) and one bronze in the U23 category (C1: 2019). Vavřinec Hradilek
Vavřinec Hradilek (; born 10 March 1987) is a Czech slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2003. Hradilek competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. In the K1 event he finished seventh in the qualification round, thus progressing to the semifinals. In the semifinals he finished eleventh, failing to reach the final round. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London he won a silver medal in the K1 event. He recorded a time of 94.78 seconds in the final which was only beaten by Daniele Molmenti (93.43 s). He also started in the C2 event with Stanislav Ježek where they finished ninth after being eliminated in the semifinals. He won seven medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with three golds (K1: 2022, K1 team: 2017, 2023), three silvers (K1: 2017, K1 team: 2014, 2019) and a bronze (K1 team: 2018). Peter Kauzer (born 8 September 1983) is a Slovenian slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 1999. Career Kauzer has competed at four Summer Olympics. He finished 13th in the K1 event at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing after being eliminated in the semi-finals. Four years later at the London games he was one of the top favorites for gold in the K1 event.
