2020 AFL Women's Draft
The 2020 AFL Women's draft consists of the various periods when the 14 clubs in the AFL Women's competition can recruit players prior to the competition's 2021 season. Signing and trading period A significantly delayed trade period was announced to begin from 3 August and conclude on 12 August, following the suspension of normal list management responsibilities due to COVID-19 pandemic. Concurrently, clubs will be permitted to re-sign existing players and will have until 17 August to do so. Players can be signed for one or two year contracts. Retirements and delistings Trades Delisted free agency A delisted free agency period was held from August 17 to August 21, where unsigned players could move to other clubs. Lisa Whiteley
Lisa Whiteley (born 17 January 1993) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for Adelaide in the AFL Women's (AFLW). Whiteley was a teacher at Aldinga Beach B-7 Primary School as a PE Teacher before being Drafted to GWS Giants Whiteley grew up in Adelaide's southern suburbs. She began playing football for the Port Adelaide Women's Football Club in 2011 before turning her attention to netball with the Woods Panthers. Bianca Jakobsson (born 30 March 1993) is an Australian rules footballer playing for the St Kilda Football Club in the AFL Women's competition (AFLW). She previously played for Carlton and Melbourne. Jessica Sedunary
Jessica Sedunary (born 10 November 1990) is an Australian rules footballer playing for the West Coast Eagles in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She has previously played for the Adelaide Football Club from 2017 to 2019 and 2021 to 2022 (S6) and the St Kilda Football Club in 2020. Aisling Louise McCarthy (born 24 February 1996) is an Irish Australian rules footballer playing for Fremantle in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She became an Australian citizen in July 2022. Harriet Cordner
Harriet Cordner (born 22 July 1992) is an Australian rules footballer with the Carlton Football Club in the AFL Women's competition. She previously played four seasons with after being recruited to the club as a category B rookie in October 2016. She made her debut in the fifteen point loss to at Casey Fields in the opening round of the 2017 season. She played every match in her debut season to finish with seven games. She was delisted in May 2017 but was quickly re-signed by Melbourne as a free agent. She is the granddaughter of the former player, Brownlow Medallist, and two time VFL premiership player Don Cordner. Sarah Dargan (born 3 February 1999) is an Australian rules footballer who last played with Sydney in the AFL Women's competition (AFLW). Sarah D'Arcy (born 22 August 1991) is an Australian rules footballer with the Richmond Football Club in the AFL Women's competition (AFLW). Previously, she played four seasons at including in the club's inaugural team. Early life and state football D'Arcy is originally from Healesville and was introduced to football via her local Auskick program. She switched to soccer before returning to play football with the under-14 boys at Healesville Football Club. After two games she was playing with Yarra Valley Cougars in the senior women's division. Jayde Van Dyk (born 28 March 1996) is an Australian rules footballer playing for St Kilda in the AFL Women's (AFLW). Abbey Green (born 22 January 1997) is a retired Australian rules footballer who played for North Melbourne and Collingwood in the AFL Women's (AFLW). State football Green played for Launceston in the Tasmanian Women's Football League (TWFL), and was a standout player, being selected for three seasons in a row for the league's Team of the Year.
