2019–20 Vanderbilt Commodores Men's Basketball Team
The 2019–20 Vanderbilt Commodores men's basketball team represented Vanderbilt University in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They were coached by Jerry Stackhouse in his first season at Vanderbilt. The Commodores played their home games at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville, Tennessee as members of the Southeastern Conference. They finished the season 11–21, 3–15 in SEC play to finish in last place. They lost in the first round of the SEC tournament to Arkansas. Following a 90–64 loss to South Carolina on January 25, Vanderbilt tied Sewanee for the most consecutive conference losses in SEC history, 24, which was set from 1938 to 1940. They were coached by Bryce Drew in his third season at Vanderbilt. The Commodores played their home games at Memorial Gymnasium (Vanderbilt University), Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville, Tennessee as members of the Southeastern Conference. Bryce Drew
Bryce Homer Drew (born September 21, 1974) is an American college basketball coach and former player who is the head coach of the Grand Canyon Antelopes. Previously he served as the head coach of the Vanderbilt Commodores and in the same capacity at his alma mater, Valparaiso, having succeeded his father, Homer Drew. Drew has led his teams to the NCAA tournament on four occasions, including at least once at each of the three schools he has been the head coach of. Bryce's brother, Scott, also coached at Valpo before becoming the head coach of the Baylor Bears. As a player, Bryce Drew was known for his buzzer-beating shot in the first round of Valparaiso's run in the 1998 NCAA tournament. Hyattsville is a city in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States, and also a close, urban suburb of Washington, D.C. The population was 21,187 at the 2020 United States Census. History Before Europeans reached the area, the upper Anacostia River was home to Nacotchtank/Anaquashtank people, a Piscataway-speaking Algonquian peoples who lived throughout what is now the Washington, D.C. area. Yannick Clemens Thomas Wetzell (born 8 July 1996) is a New Zealand professional basketball player for Alba Berlin of the German Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) and the EuroLeague.
