2019–20 UCLA Bruins Women's Basketball Team
The 2019–20 UCLA Bruins women's basketball team represented the University of California, Los Angeles during the 2019–20 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Bruins, led by ninth year head coach Cori Close, played their home games at Pauley Pavilion and competed as members of the Pac-12 Conference. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the NCAA Tournament was canceled. The Bruins finished the season 26–5 and 14–4 in conference play for a second-place tie in the Pac-12. They advanced to the semifinals of the Pac-12 Tournament, where they lost to Stanford. Had the NCAA Tournament not been canceled, the Bruins were projected to receive a #3-seed and to host a 1st/2nd Round pod. UCLA's overall winning percentage of .839 was its highest since the 2010–11 season, when the Bruins finished 28–5 (.848). Cori Close
Cori Rashel Close (born July 29, 1971) is the current head women's basketball coach for the UCLA Bruins. She was hired by the Bruins in 2011. Windward School
Windward School is an independent school in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. It was founded by writer/teacher Shirley Windward in 1971. The school currently enrolls 625 students in grades 7 through 12. History In 1971, two former Paul Revere Middle School teachers, Carl Parsons and Shirley Windward (for whom the school is named), founded the school in order to open up their classes to young people on the West side of Los Angeles. Mater Dei High School (Santa Ana, California)
Mater Dei High School is a private, Catholic, co-educational secondary school in Santa Ana, California. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange. Mater Dei is known for its strong sports programs, especially in football, and for its multiple graduates who have won the Heisman Trophy. Langham Creek High School
Langham Creek High School is a high school located in an unincorporated area in Harris County, Texas, United States, near Houston. Langham Creek, which was established in 1984, is part of the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District. Several communities, including Concord Bridge, Westgate, Northglen, Copper Lakes, and parts of the Copperfield subdivision, are zoned to the school.
