2019–20 Segona Divisió
The 2019–20 Segona Divisió, also known as Lliga UNIDA, was the 21st season of second-tier football in Andorra. The season began on 21 September 2019 and ended on 11 July 2020. On 5 May, the clubs and the federation agreed on how to finish the season. The two teams which remained mathematically able to qualify for promotion played each other twice to determine final places in the league. On 1 July, this was confirmed. Teams At the end of the previous season, Atlètic Club d'Escaldes and Carroi were promoted to the Primera Divisió. These two teams were replaced in the Segona Divisió by Lusitanos and Encamp who were relegated from the Primera Divisió. Segona Divisió
The Segona Divisió (Second Division), or Lliga UNIDA for sponsorship reasons, is the second-highest level of men's football in Andorra. Former FC Santa Coloma reserve team were renamed UE Santa Coloma for 2007–08 (therefore eligible for promotion) and finally gained access to the Primera Divisió after finishing top place. Penya Encarnada d'Andorra are the current holders, having won the 2021–22 title and earning promotion to the Primera Divisió. Stadiums The Andorran Football Federation organizes the matches of Primera Divisió and Segona Divisió in the stadiums owned by the local federation. Also the federation distributes the stadiums and fields for the training sessions for each team. Inter Club D'Escaldes
Inter Club d'Escaldes is an Andorran football club based in Escaldes-Engordany. The club currently plays in Primera Divisió. History Inter Club d'Escaldes was founded in Escaldes-Engordany in 1991 and being founder member of Primera Divisió in 1995, the Premier League of Andorra. The club was playing since then in the top flight until April 2015 when the team was relegated after finishing 8th in the regular league. The club returned in Primera Divisió after two seasons, in May 2017. ''L'Inter'' achieved twice the third position in Primera Divisió, during two consecutives seasons in 1999-00 and 2000–01, and became runners-up in Copa Constitució during the 2001–02 season, losing 2–0 against FC Lusitanos. 2020 Copa Constitució
The 2020 Copa Constitució was the 28th edition of the Andorran national football knockout tournament. The opening round of this edition of the cup was played on 19 January 2020 and the final was held on 29 July 2020. Engordany were the defending champions after winning the final over FC Santa Coloma by a score of 2–0. On 1 July, 2020, plans were finalized for the Copa Constitució to resume on 26 July 2020 after a long delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Andorra. Schedule First round Eight clubs competed in the first round. The matches were played on 19 January 2020. Quarter–finals Eight clubs competed in the quarter–finals. The 2019–20 Primera Divisió, also known as Lliga Multisegur Assegurances for sponsorship reasons, was the 25th season of top-tier football in Andorra. The season began on 15 September 2019 and concluded on 23 July 2020, with Inter Club d'Escaldes winning their first title. FC Santa Coloma were the defending league champions. After a four month delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Andorra, it was announced that the league would return on 5 July 2020 to finish the regular season and then proceed to the playoffs, which will be halved. The 2020–21 Primera Divisió was the 26th season of top-tier football in Andorra. The season was initially scheduled to begin on 25 October 2020 and end in May 2021. Due to new restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic in Andorra, the start of the season was delayed. The season began on 29 November 2020. The league winner qualified to participate in the 2021–22 UEFA Champions League. Inter Club d'Escaldes were the defending Primera Divisió champions. Teams Ordino were relegated from the Primera Divisió after finishing in last place the previous season. As Segona Divisió champions, Penya Encarnada were promoted to replace Ordino. Unió Esportiva Santa Coloma, also known as UE Santa Coloma, is a football club from Andorra based in the village of Santa Coloma, Andorra la Vella. The club currently plays in Primera Divisió. History UE Santa Coloma was founded on 23 September 1986 in the village of Santa Coloma. In 1996 the club established a football academy to give a qualitative leap in the field of sports in the country. During few seasons the club acted as farm team for many Andorran teams including FC Santa Coloma. The first football department team was refounded, after being inactive many years, in 2006 by joining the Andorran football league Segona Divisió the following year. FC Rànger's is an Andorran football club based in Andorra la Vella. The team currently plays in Segona Divisió. History The club was founded in 1981, but they only started playing in Andorran leagues in 1999. FC Rànger's aren't associated with Glasgow Rangers. After two years in the Andorran Second Division, they played for the first time in the Campionat de Lliga in the 2001–02 season. After the promotion, FC Rànger's started a growing career, and after finishing second in 2005, they won the league title the two subsequent years, 2006 and 2007. FC Rànger's made their first time appearance in European competitions, playing the UEFA Intertoto Cup in the summer of 2005, being eliminated by Sturm Graz by 6–1 in aggregate. Fútbol Club Penya d'Andorra is an Andorran football team, based in Andorra La Vella. The team currently plays in the Primera Divisió. History FC Penya d'Andorra, formerly known as Associació Club Penya Encarnada d'Andorra, was founded in 2009 as a cultural association for the promotion of football and sport in the parish of Andorra la Vella in defense of the name and honor of the House of Benfica. UE Extremenya is an Andorran football club based in the parish of La Massana. The club currently plays in Segona Divisió. History The club was founded in 1998 as CE Cerni. The club played the 1998–99 Campionat de Lliga, being relegated to the Segona Divisió at the end of the season. They stayed in the Second Division until the coming back in the top flight during the 2002–03 season. The club was relegated after finishing 8th at the end of the regular season. The club suffered another relegation to the Second Division for the 2005–06 season after one year in the top division.
