2019–20 Nemzeti Bajnokság I
The 2019–20 Nemzeti Bajnokság I (also known as 2019–20 OTP Bank Liga), also known as NB I, was the 121st season of top-tier football in Hungary. The league was officially named ''OTP Bank Liga'' for sponsorship reasons. Ferencváros were the defending champions. The season was postponed on 16 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and resumed on 23 May. Teams MTK Budapest and Szombathelyi Haladás finished the 2018–19 Nemzeti Bajnokság I in the last two places and thus were relegated to NB II division. The two relegated teams were replaced with the top two teams in 2018–19 Nemzeti Bajnokság II, champion Zalaegerszeg and runner-up Kaposvár, each having the required licence for top-division play. Nemzeti Bajnokság I
The Nemzeti Bajnokság (, "National Championship"), also known as NB I, is the top level of the Hungarian football league system. The league is officially named OTP Bank Liga after its title sponsor OTP Bank. UEFA currently ranks the league 28th in Europe. Twelve teams compete in the league, playing each other three times, once at home, once away, and the third match is played at the stadium that the last match was not played at. At the end of the season, the top team enters the qualification for the UEFA Champions League, while the runner-up and the third place, together with the winner of the Magyar Kupa enter the UEFA Europa Conference League qualification rounds. The bottom two clubs are relegated to Nemzeti Bajnokság II, the second-level league, to be replaced by the winner and the runner up of the NB2. MTK Budapest FC
Magyar Testgyakorlók Köre Budapest Futball Club or shortly MTK is a Hungarian football club based in Józsefváros, Budapest. The team currently plays in the Nemzeti Bajnokság II. The club's colours are blue and white. As one of the most successful Hungarian football clubs, MTK has won the Hungarian League 23 times and the Hungarian Cup 12 times. The club has also won the Hungarian Super Cup twice. In 1955, as ''Vörös Lobogó SE'', they became the first Hungarian team to play in the European Cup and in 1964 they finished as runners-up in the European Cup Winners' Cup after losing to Sporting Clube de Portugal in the final. Kispest
Kispest (lit. ''Little Pest'') is the 19th (XIX) district of Budapest, Hungary. It lies south-southeast of the historical Pest city. It was founded in 1871 on rural land as a village at the borderline of Pest, so it was named Kispest. History From 1880 to 1990 Kispest's population increased from 1820 to 72,838. Name The southern suburb of Pest was named after King Francis I on 4 December 1792 when he was crowned king of Hungary. History The development of Ferencváros began in the late 18th century. MOL Aréna Sóstó (''MOL Aréna Salt Lake'') is a multi-purpose stadium in Székesfehérvár, Hungary, primarily used for football matches. History Planning On 12 November 2014, the design of the new stadium was revealed at press conference held by László Vigh and András Cser-Palkovics, mayor of Székesfehérvár. DVTK Stadion is a multi-purpose stadium in Miskolc, Hungary. It is the playing field of the local football association and it is the home of Diósgyőri VTK. History Planning On 7 October 2013, it was announced that a UEFA stadium categories, UEFA stadium category C stadium will be built in "British-style" in Miskolc. 4,5 billion Hungarian forint, HUF will be guaranteed for the construction by the Hungarian government. Nagyerdei Stadion is an all-seater asymmetric football stadium in Debrecen, Hungary and home to Debreceni Vasutas Sport Club (the seats behind the goals are 'Vario' or 'Rail' seats to facilitate safe standing at domestic matches).
