2019–20 National League 2 North
The 2019–20 National League 2 North was the eleventh season (33rd overall) of the fourth tier (north) of the English domestic rugby union competitions since the professionalised format of the second division was introduced. On 22 February Scunthorpe were the first side to be relegated after suffering a massive 109–12 defeat against Chester, going down with eight games still to play. Although it was a miserable season on the pitch for Scunthorpe, comfortably the weakest side in the division in terms of results, the loss of their player James Walker, who died earlier in the season was a far keener felt blow. On 7 March Caldy became champions with a resounding 49–5 win away to relegation threatened Preston Grasshoppers to seal an instant return to National League 1 and claim their second National League 2 North title. Caldy Rugby Football Club
Caldy Rugby Football Club is an English rugby union team which play in the Championship, the second tier of English rugby, following their promotion from National League 1 at the end of 2021-22. Their home stadium is Paton Field in Thurstaston. On 23 April 2022 Caldy reached the highest level in the club's history when they beat title rivals Sale 13–9 in front of a crowd of 3,000 at Paton Field to win National League 1 and gain promotion to the RFU Championship (tier 2) for the 2022–23 season. Luctonians
Luctonians Sports Club is an English sports club based in Kingsland, Herefordshire. The rugby union team currently plays in National League 2 West, the fourth tier of the English rugby union system, following their promotion from the Midlands Premier at the end of the 2018–19 season via the play-offs. The club runs four senior sides and a full range of junior sides. Apart from rugby, Luctonians hosts the practice of cricket, golf, cycling, having also a netball, rounders, ladies touch and ladies contact section for women. Ground Luctonians play home games at Mortimer Park on Hereford Road in the village of Kingsland – about 4 miles from the nearest town, Leominster. Ground capacity is around 2,500 – a figure that includes 300 seated in the modern grandstand (completed in 2013) – with the rest standing space. The 2013–14 National League 2 North was the fourth season (27th overall) of the fourth tier (north) of the English domestic rugby union competitions since the professionalised format of the second division was introduced. The league system was 4 points for a win, 2 points for a draw and additional bonus points being awarded for scoring 4 or more tries and/or losing within 7 points of the victorious team. In terms of promotion the league champions would go straight up into National League 1 while the runners up would have a one-game playoff against the runners up from National League 2 South (at the home ground of the club with the superior league record) for the final promotion place. The battle for the league title was as tight as it had ever been in the division with three teams - Darlington Mowden Park, Macclesfield and Stourbridge - looking to go up in a title race that went to the very last day of the season. The 2010–11 National League 2 North was the second season (twenty-fourth overall) of the fourth tier (north) of the English domestic rugby union competitions since the professionalised format of the second division was introduced. The league system was 4 points for a win, 2 points for a draw and additional bonus points being awarded for scoring 4 or more tries and/or losing within 7 points of the victorious team. In terms of promotion the league champions would go straight up into National League 1 while the runners up would have a one-game playoff against the runners up from National League 2 South (at the home ground of the club with the superior league record) for the final promotion place. The league title ended up going to Fylde who finished 14 points clear of runners up Loughborough Students - quite a turnaround for a team that finished 9th the season before. Dudley Kingswinford Rugby Football Club is an English rugby union football club based in Kingswinford in the West Midlands. The club currently plays in the fifth tier of English club rugby, participating in the Midlands Premier. The club runs seven senior sides, a ladies team and a full range of junior sides. Manchester Rugby Club, founded in 1860 as Manchester Football Club, is one of the oldest rugby union clubs in the world. Home matches are played at Grove Park in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport. Nick Royle
Nick Royle (born 1983) is a current England Rugby Sevens International rugby union player. He plays as a Rugby union positions#14. & 11. Wing, winger. He is currently playing 15-aside rugby for Caldy Rugby Football Club, Caldy in the RFU Championship (tier 2 of the English rugby union league system). As of 2018 he is the most prolific try scorer ever in National League 2 North with over 190 tries. Nick has also had success with Lancashire Rugby Football Union, Lancashire in the County Championship (rugby union), Bill Beaumont Cup - winning the competition 3 times. Chris Johnson (born 1986) is an English rugby union footballer, currently playing at Fly-half or Centre for Sale in National League 1. Huddersfield Rugby Union Football Club is an English rugby union team based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. The 2014–15 National League 2 North is the sixth season (28th overall) of the National League 2 North, fourth tier of the English domestic rugby union competitions since the professionalised format of the RFU Championship, second division was introduced. New teams to the division include Hull Ionians (relegated from 2013–14 National League 1, National League 1 2013–14), Broadstreet Rugby Club, Broadstreet (promoted from National League 3 Midlands), Huddersfield Rugby Union Football Club, Huddersfield and Stockport R.U.F.C, Stockport (both promoted from National League 3 North).
