2019–20 Magyar Kupa
The 2019–20 Magyar Kupa (English: ''Hungarian Cup'') was the 80th season of Hungary's annual knock-out cup football competition. The title holders were MOL Vidi FC by winning the 2019 Magyar Kupa Final. The competition was postponed on 16 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and resumed on 23 May. Honvéd won the final by beating Mezőkövesdi SE at the Puskás Aréna. Main Tournament On 11 September 2019 the draw took place at the headquarters of the Hungarian Football Federation. This was the first draw in the 2019–20 season where Nemzeti Bajnokság I and Nemzeti Bajnokság II clubs were included. Participating teams 1: The license from Balmazújváros was not issued. Budapest Honvéd FC
Budapest Honvéd Football Club (), commonly known as Budapest Honvéd or simply Honvéd, is a Hungarian sports club based in Kispest, Budapest, with the colours of red and black. The club is best known for its football team. ''Honvéd'' means the Homeland Defence. Originally formed as ''Kispest AC'', they became ''Kispest FC'' in 1926 before reverting to their original name in 1944. 2019–20 Nemzeti Bajnokság I
The 2019–20 Nemzeti Bajnokság I (also known as 2019–20 OTP Bank Liga), also known as NB I, was the 121st season of top-tier football in Hungary. The league was officially named ''OTP Bank Liga'' for sponsorship reasons. Ferencváros were the defending champions. The season was postponed on 16 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and resumed on 23 May. Teams MTK Budapest and Szombathelyi Haladás finished the 2018–19 Nemzeti Bajnokság I in the last two places and thus were relegated to NB II division. The two relegated teams were replaced with the top two teams in 2018–19 Nemzeti Bajnokság II, champion Zalaegerszeg and runner-up Kaposvár, each having the required licence for top-division play. Békéscsaba 1912 Előre is a Hungarian football club from Békéscsaba. The club was founded in 1912 as ''Előre Munkás Testedző Egyesület''. The colours of the club are lilac and white. The club achieved its greatest success in 1988 when it won the Hungarian Cup competition, defeating Budapest Honvéd FC 3–2 in the final. Balmazújvárosi FC, also known by the sponsor name Balmaz Kamilla Gyógyfürdő or the company name Balmazújváros Sport, is a Hungarian football club located in Balmazújváros, Hungary. The 2019–20 Nemzeti Bajnokság II (also known as 2019–20 Merkantil Bank Liga) is Hungary's 69th season of the Nemzeti Bajnokság II, the second tier of the Hungarian football league system. On 29 July 2019, it was announced that Balmazújváros did not receive license from the Hungarian Football Federation. On 29 August 2019 it was confirmed that Balmazújváros's license was suspended. Therefore, the 2019-20 Nemzeti Bajnokság would continue with 19 teams only. On 4 May 2020 season was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Zalaegerszegi Torna Egylet Football Club (), commonly known as Zalaegerszegi TE, Zalaegerszeg or ZTE, is a football club from the city of Zalaegerszeg in Hungary. Zalaegerszeg has won one Hungarian League title in 2002. History ZTE traces its roots back to 1912, at the time of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Its first match was a 4–2 defeat to a team from Vasvár. The team was first composed of members of a literary and debating society. ZTE flourished under coach József Vadász, but World War I halted its progress. Újpest Football Club () is a Hungarian professional association football, football club, based in Újpest, Budapest, that competes in Nemzeti Bajnokság I. Kisvárda Football Club is a Hungarian football club located in Kisvárda. It currently plays in Nemzeti Bajnokság I. The team's colors are red and white. History Kisvárda FC, later known as Várda SE, was founded in 1911 as ''Kisvárdai Sport Egyesület (KSE)''. The officials of the village supported the new club by donating a pitch next to the market place. Kaposvári Rákóczi FC is a football club in Kaposvár, Hungary. Their home stadium is Stadion Kaposvár Rákoczi. The team is named after Francis II Rákóczi, a Transylvanian prince and national hero and they are also often referred to be the nickname ''Somogyiak'', referring to Somogy County, where the team plays. Ferencvárosi Torna Club, known as Ferencváros (), Fradi, or simply FTC, is a professional football club based in Ferencváros, Budapest, Hungary, that competes in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, the top flight of Hungarian football.
