2019–20 Greek Basket League
The 2019–20 Greek betshop.gr Basket League was the 80th season of the Greek Basket League, the top-tier level professional club basketball league in Greece. The season started in September 2019, and ended prematurely in March 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 21 May 2020, after a vote that was held between the league's 14 teams, Panathinaikos was crowned the Greek basketball league's champion for the season, marking the club's 38th Greek championship. The league's 14 teams also agreed that none of the teams would be relegated. Proposed format changes On 15 May 2019, the Greek Basket League announced that it was planning to expand from 14 teams to 16 teams, and that there were no league relegations scheduled from the previous 2018–19 Greek Basket League season. 2018–19 Greek Basket League
The 2018–19 Greek betshop.gr Basket League was the 79th season of the Greek Basket League, the Greek basketball league system, top-tier level professional club basketball league in Greece. The season started on 7 October 2018, and ended on 15 June 2019. Panathinaikos B.C., Panathinaikos OPAP won the Greek Basket League championship for a record 37th time, after beating Promitheas Patras B.C., Promitheas Patras 3–0 in the #Playoffs, Finals. The season infamously featured a major feud between traditional rivals Panathinaikos BC, Panathinaikos and Olympiacos BC, Olympiacos over official (basketball), refereeing decisions in the 2018–19 Greek Basketball Cup, 2019 Greek Cup semifinals game between the two teams, which eventually culminated in Olympiacos also forfeit (sport), forfeiting their playoffs. The Hellenic Basketball Federation ( el, Ελληνική Ομοσπονδία Καλαθοσφαίρισης, abbreviated as Ε.Ο.Κ.) is the main basketball governing body for the sport in Greece. Laurium or Lavrio ( ell, Λαύριο; grc, Λαύρειον (later ); before early 11th century BC: Θορικός ''Thorikos''; from Middle Ages until 1908: Εργαστήρια ''Ergastiria'') is a town in southeastern part of Attica, Greece.
