2019 Solheim Cup
The 2019 Solheim Cup was the 16th edition of the Solheim Cup matches, held from 13 to 15 September at the Gleneagles Hotel, Gleneagles PGA Centenary Course in Scotland. The Solheim Cup is a biennial team competition between the top women professional golfers from Europe and the United States. It is a three-day match play event between teams of twelve players with a similar format to the Ryder Cup. Juli Inkster captained the U.S. team for the third time and Catriona Matthew captained the European team for the first time. After the first two days the competition was tied at 8-all. Europe won the singles 6–5 to win the Cup for the first time since 2013. Format The Solheim Cup is a match play event, with each match worth one point. Gleneagles Hotel
Gleneagles Hotel is a hotel near Auchterarder, Scotland. It was commissioned by the Caledonian Railway and opened in 1924. The bandleader, Henry Hall (bandleader), Henry Hall, performed at the hotel before the World War II, Second World War during which it served as a military hospital. There are three tournament-standard golf courses in the grounds and the hotel was redeveloped for the 40th Ryder Cup in 2014 Ryder Cup, 2014. 2019 LPGA Tour
The 2019 LPGA Tour was a series of professional golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world. The season began at the Four Season Golf Club in Lake Buena Vista, Florida on January 17 and ended on November 24 at the Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Florida. The tournaments are sanctioned by the United States-based Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). Jodi Ewart Shadoff
Jodi Ewart Shadoff (born 7 January 1988) is an English professional golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour and on the Ladies European Tour. Early life Ewart was born at Northallerton in North Yorkshire. Her family now lives in Middleham and is involved in horse racing; her father is a former jockey and horse trainer. As a child, she played football before her grandfather introduced her to golf and to her first coach. She attended the University of New Mexico, graduating with a degree in psychology in 2010. While at New Mexico, she had five collegiate wins and was a two-time NCAA All-American (2009 and 2010). Caroline Masson (born 14 May 1989) is a German professional golfer, currently playing on the Ladies European Tour (LET). Amateur and college career Born and raised in Gladbeck in North Rhine-Westphalia, Masson had a decorated amateur golf career. She competed for Germany in the 2006 Espirito Santo Trophy (World Amateur Team Championship) and won the German Stroke Play Championship.
