The 2019 Sheikh Jassim Cup was the 41st edition of the cup competition for football teams from Qatar. It was changed from a group staged pre-season tournament featuring all Qatari Stars League sides, to a one-off match between the previous seasons Qatar Stars League winners and Emir of Qatar Cup winners. Sheikh Jassim Cup
The Sheikh Jassim Cup ( ar, كأس الشيخ جاسم) is an annual men's super cup competition in Qatari football held between the winner of the Qatar Stars League and the Emir of Qatar Cup. History The inaugural Sheikh Jassim Cup was held in 1977. Prior to the 2014 Sheikh Jassim Cup, all 18 Qatari football clubs competed in the cup. Under this format, the teams were divided into four groups with the winners from each group qualifying for the semi-finals. The cup serves the opening event to the Qatar's football season. Al Sadd SC are the most successful team in the competition's history, having won the trophy on 15 occasions. Boualem Khoukhi
Boualem Khoukhi ( ar, بوعلام خوخي; born 9 July 1990) is a professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Al Sadd in the Qatar Stars League. Born in Algeria, he is naturalized to represent the Qatar national team. Club career Youth career A pure product of the JSM Chéraga junior ranks, Khoukhi made his debut for the senior team in the 2009–10 season. He struggled in his first season, but his career was soon revived when Farid Zemiti was hired as the head coach of the club. Ali Mohammed Jasimi (born April 19, 1991) is a Qatari professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Qatari club Al-Sailiya. He is mostly known for his passing style of play, especially his crosses, which he uses to provide width for his respective team. He is seen as one of the best passers in the league. Abdulaziz Al Ansari ( ar, عبد العزيز الأنصاري; born 19 February 1992) is a Qatari professional footballer who plays as a striker for Al-Shamal, on loan from Al Arabi.
