2019 Rugby Europe Sevens Olympic Qualifying Tournament
The 2019 Rugby Europe Sevens Olympic Qualifying Tournament was held on 13–14 July in Colomiers at Stade Michel Bendichou. The champion of the tournament, England, qualified on behalf of Great Britain for the European spot in the 2020 Summer Olympics. The two runners-up, France and Ireland, advance to the 2020 Olympic repechage tournament. Teams Twelve teams take part in the tournament, of which nine teams qualified through the 2019 Moscow Sevens, and are seeded according to their placements. Colomiers (; oc, Colomèrs; Languedocien dialect: ''Colomièrs'') is a Communes of France, commune in the Haute-Garonne Departments of France, department in the Occitania (administrative region), Occitania Regions of France, region in Southwestern France. Twelve teams qualified for men's rugby sevens at the 2020 Summer Olympics . Japan automatically qualified as host, with the top four teams of the 2018–19 World Rugby Sevens Series securing their spots. Richard Haughton (born 8 November 1980) is an English former rugby union player who currently works as a rugby referee. He was educated at St John's School, Leatherhead. He played on the wing or at fullback for Perpignan in the Top 14, and was a member of England Saxons and England Sevens squads. He also played for London Wasps and Saracens.
