2019 Paris Sevens
The 2019 Paris Sevens was the final event of the 2018–19 World Rugby Sevens Series and the twelfth edition of the France Sevens. The tournament was held on 1–2 June 2019 at Stade Jean-Bouin, Paris. Format Sixteen teams are drawn into four pools of four teams each. Each team plays all the others in their pool once. The top two teams from each pool advance to the Cup quarterfinals. The bottom two teams from each group advance to the Challenge Trophy quarterfinals. 2018–19 World Rugby Sevens Series
The 2018–19 World Rugby Sevens Series, known for sponsorship reasons as the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, was the 20th annual series of rugby sevens tournaments for national men's rugby sevens teams. The World Rugby Sevens Series, Sevens Series has been run by World Rugby since 1999–2000. This series also, for the second time, doubled as a qualifier for the Rugby sevens at the 2020 Summer Olympics, 2020 Summer Olympics, with the top four countries qualifying automatically. Fiji finished first in the Series, winning five of the ten tournaments. The United States finished in a best-ever second place, reaching the semifinals in all ten tournaments. Josua Vakurunabili (born 10 June 1992) is a Fijian rugby union player. Biography Vakurunabili is from Vatukarasa Village in the Nadroga Navosa Province. He made his senior international debut at the London Sevens in 2017. He was named in the Dream Team at the 2019 Singapore Sevens tournament. Hugo Lennox
Hugo Lennox (born 6 March 1999) is an Irish rugby union player who plays for the Ireland national rugby sevens team. Rugby career Lennox debuted with the Ireland national sevens team in September 2018. He also represented Ireland at the 2019 London Sevens where he started four of the six matches, and the team finished sixth. Lennox also played at the 2019 Paris Sevens. Lennox again was in the Ireland squad in June 2019 for a Europe regional qualifying tournament for the 2020 Summer Olympics. Lennox also played for Ireland during the 2019-20 World Rugby Sevens Series. In 2022, He competed for Ireland at the Rugby World Cup Sevens in Cape Town. Jack Kelly (born 26 October 1997) is an Irish rugby union player, who is currently a member of the Leinster academy and plays for the Ireland national rugby sevens team. Early life Kelly lived in France for two years during his childhood, also playing rugby, and speaks fluent French. Kelly attended secondary school at St. Michael's College in Dublin. Despite playing in several strong school teams with fellow future professional rugby players such as Dan Leavy, James Ryan and others, he did not win a Leinster Schools Rugby Senior Cup medal. Leinster Kelly joined the Leinster academy immediately upon leaving school in 2016. He made his senior Leinster debut in 2018 against Ospreys. James Rodwell (born 23 August 1984) is an English professional rugby sevens player who was part of the national squad from 2008 to 2019. He ended his career with records as the Worlds most capped sevens player, having played in the most consecutive tournaments (69) and most tournaments (93) in the World Rugby Sevens Series.
