2019 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships
The 2019 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships took place from March 21 to March 23 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the PPG Paints Arena. The tournament was the 89th NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, and featured seventy teams across that level. Penn State won their fourth consecutive title and eighth in nine years. NCAA Division I
NCAA Division I (D-I) is the highest level of College athletics, intercollegiate athletics sanctioned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States, which accepts players globally. D-I schools include the major collegiate athletic powers, with large budgets, more elaborate facilities and more athletic scholarships than Divisions II and III as well as many smaller schools committed to the highest level of intercollegiate competition. Stevan Andrija Mićić ( sr-cyr, Стеван Андрија Мићић; born 4 April 1996) is a Serbian-American freestyle and folkstyle wrestler who competes at 57 kilograms (125 pounds). Daton Duain Fix (born March 11, 1998) is an American freestyle and folkstyle wrestler who competes internationally at 61 kilograms, and collegiately at 133 pounds. In freestyle, he was the 2021 World Championship runner-up, the 2019 Pan American Games gold medalist, the 2022 Pan American Continental champion and is a two-time US World Team Member (2019 and 2021). Cornell Big Red Wrestling
The Cornell Big Red wrestling team represents Cornell University of Ithaca, New York in collegiate wrestling. It is one of the most successful and storied collegiate wrestling programs in the nation with over 20 individual NCAA champions and 42 Ivy League and 26 Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association championships since the program's 1907 founding. Vitali Orujov (russian: Виталий Оруджов; born June 1, 1999) is an American freestyle and folkstyle wrestler who competes at 61 kilograms. In freestyle, he is the reigning World Champion at 61kg, as well as a two-time Pan-American gold medalist and the 2023 US National champion. In freestyle, he was the '19 US National champion and a three–time age–group World Champion, once as a cadet and twice as a junior. As a folkstyle wrestler, Lee has won the James E.
